We’ve all been there… Someone on the team is “good with Canva”, so they get handed the logo, the website graphics and the event flyer, and suddenly they’re running your brand…

The problem is that nobody can see your expertise before they buy. They can only see how you look, and if your brand looks like it was knocked together on a Friday afternoon, people assume the rest of your business was too… (people DO judge) You could have years of results behind you and still lose the client to someone less experienced who simply looks the part.

It’s not your intern’s fault, to be fair. They had a go, which is more than most. But your brand is the first thing people judge you on, so it deserves more than a spare half hour and a popular template.

If you want to see where your brand is letting your expertise down, grab my free guide at studiolewrobbo.com/brand. It’ll show you what to fix first, without the weeks of back and forth.

And be honest, who’s “had a go” on Canva in your business? 🤪 taken in Orlando, Florida by @studiolewrobbo

POV: You’re a designer… and it FINALLY clicks 👏🏻

Nobody sees the hours designer’s spend staring at the screen wondering if they’ve forgotten how to design… then it finally clicks, and we act like we knew allllll along 🤪

You’ve spent years getting brilliant at what you do, and your time is far better spent speaking, coaching and running your team than going back and forth on a rebrand that never quite hits the spot…

The problem is that nobody can see your expertise before they buy from you, so they judge the only thing they can see… (cool, right?) which is your brand. If your logo, your sales page and your socials look like an afterthought, people assume the same about the rest of your business…. Listen, it happens 🤷🏻

Handing it to someone on your team to ‘have a go’ in Canva, or finding the ‘cheapest option’ on Fiverr, usually ends the same way, with weeks of revisions and a brand that still doesn’t reflect the level you actually operate at.

If your brand is lagging behind your reputation, send me a message and let’s talk about closing that gap. taken in Orlando, Florida by @studiolewrobbo

Seriously, your logo probably isn’t the thing stopping people from taking you seriously… 🙄

What matters is the impression people get when they come across your business. Does it look like you know your shit? Does it feel credible? Does it look like you belong in the room you’re trying to get into?

Because people make assumptions before they ever read the sales page, book the call or hear you speak. And if your brand looks generic, outdated or thrown together, they’re already filling in the blanks for you.

A great logo won’t fix that... So before you spend another week moving your logo three pixels to the left, ask yourself:

What the fuck does your brand actually say??? 🤷🏻‍♂️ taken in Orlando, Florida by @studiolewrobbo

I have branded events across three continents now, and laying the map out still catches me off guard.

The pins land on Sydney, Dublin, London, Las Vegas, New Jersey, Austin and Orlando. Different rooms, different themes, but the same job every single time. Get people to show up, and make them glad they did.

Because the creative is always doing more than looking nice on a poster. A sales page has to sell the whole experience and not just a seat. A promo video has to make people picture the event before they have even arrived. The theme has to be the hook that makes staying home feel like the wrong call.

That build up starts months before anyone walks through the door, and it is the part most hosts leave far too late.

If you are planning your showcase event for 2026, come and plan it with me while there is still time to do it properly. studiolewrobbo.com/book taken in Orlando, Florida by @studiolewrobbo

Most people think theming an event is just decoration.

It’s actually doing a job, it builds familiarity before you’ve said a word and gets people bought in before the content even starts.

Talking through why entertainment has to come before education, and a few of the events I’ve themed to prove it works.

This is what happens when a graphic designer spends all day frozen in place choosing a colour palette 😅

Lester Kitching didn’t buy a logo. He bought something he could be proud of.

Before working with me, he was doing it all himself, Canva, ChatGPT, guessing at colours and fonts. In his own words: “Hours of effort and back and forth, then looking at it and thinking, f**k sake, it still looks rubbish.” He wanted people to see his book, his event, his marketing and think this guy is the real deal. Instead it was saying amateur. Forgettable. Shite.

The pain was never just the time it took. It was spending all that time and still not ending up with something that looked good.

So we built one logo system, carried across the book, the podcast, and every touchpoint in between. Now when people arrive at his events, they’re blown away. It gave him confidence presenting, set the tone for the whole business, and became something competitors couldn’t easily copy.

That’s what branding changes.

If your brand is saying less than you’re capable of, that’s worth fixing. Book a free brand call at studiolewrobbo.com/book.

Everyone wants to look like the established names in their space.

It feels like the safe move. Model the people who already made it, borrow the credibility, fit in.

The problem is that fitting in is exactly how you get forgotten.

When your brand looks like every other coach in your niche, you hand your audience an easy decision. Look the same as the next person and price becomes the only thing left to compare you on. That is a fight you never want to be in.

Familiar does not mean trusted. It means invisible. People stop long enough to pay attention when something looks like it could only be you.

Sameness costs you attention before anyone hears what you actually do.

Ten of the most common versions of this I see coaches and experts making are in the free brand report. Takes about fifteen minutes to read and most people come away knowing exactly what to fix first.

The 8 Profit Levers, a book brand I built for Vince Gabriele.

The brief was simple in theory: keep it raw and hand-drawn, like the covers Vince always loved from Dan Kennedy’s No B.S. series. In practice that meant everything got sketched first, the stage markers, the arrows, the “you are here” starbursts, all built to look like they’d been drawn on rather than placed with a grid.

Kept the palette flat and tight, black, yellow, white, so the raw illustration style never tips into looking messy. That’s the balance, loose enough to feel human, controlled enough to still read as one brand.

Same system then carried across every asset, the cover, the internal book spreads, the funnel diagrams, right through to the Amazon listing. Wherever it shows up, it’s instantly his.

Vince Gabriele came to me to design his book, The 8 Profit Levers for Gym Owners.

Vince was a student of Dan Kennedy, and he always loved the raw, colourful feel of the No B.S. book series, the kind of covers that don’t look overly polished, they look like they’ve got something urgent to say. He wanted that same energy on his cover.

The challenge was keeping that rawness without letting it turn into a mess. So we sprinkled it in through the illustration style and the little details, the “you are here” starburst, the arrows, the torn edge marker on the back cover, but held the whole thing to three or four colours. That’s what stops it looking like a copy of someone else’s series and makes it feel like its own brand.

The book itself is built around the exact stage most gym owners get stuck at. Somewhere around $25k a month, the gym is busy, the clients are great, but the owner is still the trainer, the manager and the person locking up at night. Adding more members at that point just adds more hours, not more profit. The book walks through eight areas, pricing, capacity, follow up, staffing, retention, time, lead generation and sales conversion, that actually move a gym from that stuck stage to the next one.

So the stage graphic on the cover isn’t just decoration, it’s the actual promise of the book, shown visually before someone’s even read a page. Same system then carried through onto the sales page, the socials, and the Instagram post announcing the launch, so it reads as one connected brand everywhere it shows up, not a book that was designed separately from everything else.
