The toggle buckle, characterized by its bar and loop design, was popularized in the mid-20th century, particularly during the 1960s and 1970s. The buckles restrict movement in an allegorical interpretation of a caged beast. Human hair tracks were sewn into the darting of the cape to give a foreboding or “fur” motif. by @studiomaidon
