I’ve started working on some quilt inspired platters for @adelaideceramicfair . It’s a theme I’ve been playing with off and on since I was at uni, though back then I was using glass .
Anyway, these designs are printed with coloured slip and once they’re bisque fired will have a wash of another colour over the top to give an additional layer of depth and texture. by @studiooh.10

Studio OH-10 (aka Cate Oaten-Hepworth) is a compulsive maker and a homebody. Creating ceramic pieces that are thoughtfully designed to be used daily with the hope they will bring some joy to your routine is her favourite way to spend her time.

Using locally dug stoneware and terracotta clay, Cate creates work that is functional, colourful, and displays evidence of the hand-making process.

Cate believes that in a fast paced world, spending time with objects made by hand, with love, is an act of quiet resistance.

I’ve begun prepping for @adelaideceramicfair and I’m going bring lots of old favourites dressed in new colours and surfaces. I’ve been learning new (to me) techniques and experimenting heaps all year and I’m looking forward to sharing it with you!

I’m also considering a limited release of my old pink glaze for those of you who still miss it 🩷

Fresh teacups, mugs, bowls and these little oil burners have been delivered to @fieldtripbalhannah and I left the shop full of ideas of what to make next for them. There will be platters and large vases coming right up! by @studiooh.10
