Ceramics, books and flowers are just a few of my favourite things.
We have lots of beautiful gift ideas in both shops waiting for you to discover. I am not great at sharing all the different products we have in the shops as there’s a fair bit of variation now. But I hope you’ll always find something gorgeous and perfect no matter which space you can fossick in ❤️

Studio OH-10 (aka Cate Oaten-Hepworth) is a compulsive maker and a homebody. Creating ceramic pieces that are thoughtfully designed to be used daily with the hope they will bring some joy to your routine is her favourite way to spend her time.

Using locally dug stoneware and terracotta clay, Cate creates work that is functional, colourful, and displays evidence of the hand-making process.

Cate believes that in a fast paced world, spending time with objects made by hand, with love, is an act of quiet resistance.

A few snaps from around the shop in Adelaide. I’ve been here for the last couple of days and really just tried to immerse myself in the calm joy of the space. I can’t quite explain it but I hope you get to experience it for yourself some time. There are treasures everywhere you look. Layers and layers upon layers. Pop in to our OG store at 6 Elizabeth St, Croydon 10-3 Tuesday to Sunday.

A little photo tour around our Diamond Creek shop ❤️
We have lots of beautiful thoughtful pieces in our shop. We don’t do mass produced or poorly made items. You’re paying for well designed and well made pieces in a sweet little shop that hopefully adds a bit of happiness to your day and interest to the Chute Street landscape ❤️

There’s been lots of talk about our Croydon shop lately (and rightly so, 8 years is something to bang on about). But I have been plodding away in the Diamond Creek shop too. We have this amazing kitchen dresser from the 1950s in store now and I spent the day making her cute. I’ve called her Barbara because the lady I bought her from is called Barbara. I hope I’m done with nighttime adventures for marketplace pick ups for a while 😹 But it’s also me, so you never know!

I’ve dressed her in puzzles and ceramics and wooden spoons and hot water bottle covers. I thought she needed to house pieces that would have been around in her heyday (but with a twist of course) ❤️

Winter definitely doesn’t mean dull in our world. We have everything you need to keep cosy and happy - including our much loved Aussie made @tightology merino wool socks.
Both shops have lots of options in long and short as well as some stockings.
This photo might be from Diamond Creek but I promise you there’s lots of all of these pieces in store at Croydon too. Notebooks, mugs, tiny houses, earrings and scarves 😊

Have you heard - it's Buy SA week from 1-9 August - and so I'm taking the opportunity to talk about how much I love supporting SA businesses 🥰

Of course Little Norma is a South Australian small business, and we choose SA made things for Little Norma because I think locally made things are generally excellent quality. Also I'm connected to these things somehow through our shared location.

Here are just some of the SA made things at Little Norma, and some of the local places we like to recommend...

Firstly , this beautiful Little Norma sign was painted by a local artist with the biggest heart @birdsnestsforhair

In the kitchen we keep ourselves well stocked with a variety of @tbartea tea bags and with the most lovely mugs by local ceramicist @studiooh.10

At the kitchen sink we have @al.ive_body products by local wonder-twins Alysa and Lysandra, and hand crocheted dish cloth by my friend Bonnie @frugalsocialworkermum

In the main bedroom is this gorgeous native flower arrangement by @adelaidenative.com.au and to the right you can spot a little artwork by @danakinter

We leave a little bag of @menzfruchocs out for our guests as a treat for when they arrive, along with our Little Norma postcard and guide book - the Little Norma map on the postcard and book is by @saskiaandshadow

In our guide book we share all our favourite local places to eat and drink, including...

@normanvilleslsc has some of the best views in SA, and I personally think it's a hidden gem. Great value pub-style food and drinks, but usually only open Fri-Sun. An easy 5 minute walk from Little Norma.

@onelittlesisternormanville is a cafe on the Main Street, open for breakfast and lunch 7 days a week. They have an eclectic creative menu, which matches the artistic decor of the cafe. Also an easy five minute walk from Little Norma.

@yore.myponga is about 15 minutes away at Myponga, so it's a great pitstop for coffee and snacks on the way to/from Little Norma. I love the vibe of this cafe/wholefoods shop, it's located in an old dairy factory.

@bergherring is a little winery tucked away just off South Road at Sellicks Hill. It's close to the Victory Hotel, and has the same sweeping views down

To make up for showing something yesterday that we only have in DC I thought I’d share these new anodised aluminium earrings from @dilkes.hoffman.designs that are indeed available at BOTH shops.
All handmade and all unique, these are created in Western Australia and are some of the lightest funky earrings you’ll find. Leela has 2 ranges for us, one abstract and one inspired by native gum blossom.

These are all online as well as in store ❤️

I seem to have gathered a couple of niche collections in both shops. It might seem like an odd thing for me to sell, but when you think about it, it makes total sense. I love to source and sell every day items that make you smile and brings you a little joy. And if a ‘regular’ wooden spoon that has flowers and character illustrations burned into them doesn’t fit that bill then I don’t know what does.
These are all decorated by the super talented free styling hand of @petalandnest ❤️ If you have no idea what I’m talking about make sure you check out Katie’s insta page and find her videos. It’s actually amazing how she has such control over this type of tool.

This recent delivery contains chickens, flowers and characters inspired by Beatrix Potter. Seriously, can you get much cuter than that??!
These can be used as an everyday household wooden spoon, just regularly oil them with food grade wax or oil.

And yes, these are available at BOTH shops ❤️

Following on from yesterday’s reel about things that bring me joy I thought I’d share some sweet snaps from around both shops that have a lot of tiny cute unnecessary things in them.
Tiny vases filled with flowers, mini ceramic houses with flowers in their hair, beeswax candles, relaxing super smelling bath salts, a sweet pressie idea that was actually bought today - a @hummingpea Grow your own Garden pack complete with a handmade pot from @studiooh.10, plus lots of outdoor nature activity books and journals from @yourwildbooks

Bringing joy and whimsy to your life one silly insta post and/or visit to our cute spaces at a time ❤️✨

We have beautiful stationery to help organise your life or to gift to someone who maybe needs a little help. Or maybe you don’t NEED those things but just love the act of writing your thoughts down, adding a sketch and/or sharing knowledge on a particular topic. Our brands are all beautiful, luxurious and that little bit different.

We have general journals, subject specific journals, blank notebooks, special pens and lots lots more.

Our range is all online and you can find a variety of goodies in both shops.
