„decisions“ is comprised – at the time of the publishing of this text – of roughly 240 sequences, each exactly 1 minute long. Each of the shots was initially published on the artist’s Instagram stories and refers to contemporary publishing and distribution methods on (social) media. Recurring motifs of these mostly very static shots are variois methods of transport and urban fauna, as well as residues and proofs of human presence, while trying to refrain from focusing too much on individuals.

All of the sequences were shot during his recent travels in Argentina and Armenia, as well as in his home country, Switzerland and the neighbouring countries.
They convey various degrees of movement and action within the selected framing, from almost freeze-frame shots to busy street scenes.
 Even though the individual length of each sequence is only 1 minute, they are – in the context of “hyper-fast-pacedness” on social media platforms – challenging the (younger, or more influenced by contemporary media) viewer’s attention span, especially when they were shown on the platform they were initially published on.

„decisions“ is currently presented on 3 flat screens. Each screen is showing 100 sequences, which is referring to the maximum amount of „stories“ you are currently allowed to publish on your Instagram „highlights“.

”DAY DIGESTION reflects on accessibility, visibility, and social stratification within the contemporary art ecosystem, particularly during large-scale art events. Taking place during the week of multiple art fairs in Basel, the exhibition responds to a familiar condition: an overwhelming concentration of exhibitions, information, invitations, and images, much of it inaccessible to those outside established professional networks.
The exhibition functions as a process of digestion. Fair visits, news cycles, and everyday routines become material to be observed, filtered, and redistributed. Rather than celebrating the event itself, DAY DIGESTION examines how cultural experiences are consumed, mediated, and remembered, shifting attention from spectacle to perception, from exclusivity to participation, and from exceptional moments to the persistence of daily life.”
