October marks the beginning of the theatre festival season! A very important period for theatrewalas all around, with new plays opening and lots of tours and shows being planned.

For us at Tamaasha, it started a bit early with two invited performances at the end of September for Same Same But Different and Ottam. We perform Ottam again in October at Rangshila.

At the Studio, there's a new show premiering this month, performed by Arpit Shashwat. Other invited groups bring a new Clowning show and a text workshop by Parwana Theatre ! Tamaasha's Pehel returns for its last edition for this year, and our scratch night, Blank Slate welcomes 4 exciting, new voices to share their WIP showcases.

The city is buzzing with theatre, and so is the Studio! It's a good time to go on a play date 🥰

Every show leaves us with something special…
Sometimes laughter, sometimes memories, and sometimes the joy of connecting with people. ❤️

Yesterday’s show left us with something beautiful too.

Our playful moments on stage and the response we received from the audience… it’s all these little things that make every show special.

A beautiful day, wonderful people, and some unforgettable moments lived on stage! 🤡🎭

PREMIERING TOMORROW at Studio Tamaasha!

Tail Tale Productions presents
THE HABER DILEMMA
Directed by Ankita Jain

Arpit Shashwat plays Nobel Prize–winning chemist Fritz Haber as he confronts the paradox of his own genius: the synthetic fertilizer he invented saved billions from starvation, yet the chemical warfare he pioneered in World War I murdered over thousands in trenches.
Was he a saviour or a war criminal?

A story of a Nawab…
Two clowns…
And a delightful journey filled with laughter, play, magic and mischief!

📖 Inspired by the characters and the word-world of renowned author Abid Surti’s book Nawab Rangeele —

✨ Ek Nawab Do Rangile
This is not just a play…
It is not traditional storytelling either…
It is an eccentric, hilarious performance rooted in theatre clowning! 🤡

Two performers bring multiple characters and situations to life —
sometimes through words,
sometimes through movement,
and sometimes… without saying a single word!

But in the end, there is only one question —

👑 Who will become the Nawab???
Come, find out for yourself!

रंगलेल्या मैफलीनंतर… कलाकाराच्या मनातलं! 🎭❤️

‘Same Same But Different’च्या प्रयोगानंतर कैलाश वाघमारे यांनी उर्जा रंगभवन आणि Urja Theatre Festival विषयी आपल्या भावना व्यक्त केल्या.

We are back!

Tamaasha is thrilled to announce the second edition of
BLANK SLATE

A playground for work-in-progress scratch performances!

As artists we often find ourselves struggling with an idea ... alone. We rarely have the opportunity to share works-in-progress beyond our immediate circle. Blank Slate is for you! Present your unfinished, untested work before a supportive audience that will share their response in a mildly structured, fun, constructive and empathetic manner.

> SHOWCASE 15 minutes of your scratch piece

> RECEIVE supportive, constructive feedback

> BUILD a potential audience and network for your upcoming work

Who can apply?

✨ Any live performance artist: actor, playwright, director, mover, musician, storyteller, singer, dancer ... maybe even producers who want to test a piece!

Free registration. Selection on the basis of application process. More details and registration link in bio.

FINAL EVENT DATE

✨Selected artists will be invited to perform at BLANK SLATE on 24 October, 7:30 PM, at Studio Tamaasha
....
Because every great piece begins as a scratch! taken in Studio Tamaasha by @studiotamaasha
