Wrapping up the first cohort for @conceptsight Creative Consultation and all i can say is: wow!

This divine design of the universe’s algorithm never ceases to amaze. Like, i’ve had this post planned for over TWO years: what are the chances that I’m wearing the SAME dress that I wore when I recorded the Creative Consultation announcement? 😅🧡

To know my journey is to know that I have always prioritised opportunities to operate as a resource. It is partly what keeps me pushing because i am intent on offering light & guidance. It’s been almost 2 weeks into the program. I’ve sent out the first round of assessment packets and I genuinely can’t wait to see how useful it is to the community of clients we are building.

After June, the calendar will be closed for the entire month of July. When it resumes in August, services will be available with a small-small fee. The aim is to keep this accessible while honouring the value of what I bring. Cheers! 🥂

P.S.: as a fun accountability exercise, I included images of all the versions of myself who thought about this idea but didn’t pursue it. Cheers to them for redirecting commitments to expand expertise in preparation for this ✨very✨ moment. #tefftheory #conceptsight #trending by @studiotheory

Our favourite portraits from our first #STUDIOTHEORYOPEN last month!
We announced this within a day’s noticed and received 11 RSVPs in under 15 hours! We were so excited!!! Regrettably, the location was not promptly provided to our RSVP’d guests amidst other commitments! 😢

It’s OK! We have learned and we are already working towards the 2nd Open Studio! Stay tuned!

MOTHER.MINO is a portrait-editorial part of an
ongoing visual investigation into the concept of Black
Divinity as it pertains to Black women and the various
practises in which our narratives are rooted.
What began as an inquest into the
implications of Black hairstyles and its DIVINE place in
forming + expressing identity, has since
expanded to examine the vastness of
our collective Womanhood.

MOTHER. MINO addresses memory vs remembrance,
intimacy, and Connectivity.
Its name, MOTHER. MINO is derived from a
combination of the English word, Mother and
the Fon expression, MINO, meaning, “OUR MOTHER”. #MOTHERMINO

“BLOOD ON THE ORANGE LEAVES” (2019)—self-portrait story by Nigerian Artist (and our founder), Stephanie Nnamani and South Africa’s Tony Gum.
Perhaps the first of its kind: a multimedia self-portrait project by two African Women Artists, BLOOD ON THE ORANGE LEAVES details + celebrates the symbiotic relationship shared between both women, their unique stories, and their practice! The project examines concepts of loss as it’s interwoven with (the formulation of identity), love, and growth.
