We are the architects and modern preservationists of Studio TJP. Our craft spans decades as we preserve old buildings for the modern world and build new buildings to last the ages.

Some things you should know about us:

Our business was founded in 1979. The current principals were long-time employees and purchased the business in 2019.
We focus on the heritage craft of architecture and bring it to the modern world. Our designs are personal and individual to our clients.
We care about the long-term stewardship of both buildings and relationships. Whether you want a new build or a remodel, we will bring a truly custom touch to your project.

Photo 1: Our Maple Creek remodel created a seismically stable new deck for a mid-century house first designed by Anna Williams and constructed by John Burroughs.
Photo 2: The award-winning Fauntleroy Residence is an ADA-accessible two-unit home for a dad and daughter.
Photo 3: The Walnut Creek Kitchen transformed the kitchen of a Sears kit house into a dream cook’s kitchen, including a baking center, without changing the footprint of the space.
Photo 4: The bathrooms of the Maple Creek remodel were completed in phase two, and focused on accessibility, safety, and cleanliness.
Photo 5: This new home on Whidbey Island takes advantage of the view and incorporated everything on the clients’ wish list.
Photo 6: A contemporary kitchen in Laurelhurst was part of a whole-house makeover.
Photo 7: We love when our long-term clients bring us along to their new homes. These clients purchased an Aurthur Loveless home and asked us to remove some outdated additions and make their “new old house” feel inviting.
Photo 8: Custom touches for a teeny tiny addition make the new porch feel luxurious.
Photo 9: Our long-term clients in Horsehead Bay keep asking us back to help them with projects on their heritage home.

What makes an older home worth preserving? Often, it’s the craftsmanship, materials, proportions, and details that give it character. Thoughtful renovation can honor those qualities while making a home work better for the way we live today.

#Passivesolar strategies always make sense. We have designed #newhomes with these principals, and are always aware of solar orientation during #remodels. Happy #earthday

We love our project on #Whidbey Island! Historic District review is not an impediment, but a chance to make a better project.
@dihedralbuilders did a fantastic job, and our clients are a dream!
