SINO KA? Episode 9 @kristina.doucette

Watching Kristina’s journey unfold is an honor. We met doing Here Lies Love on Broadway, and that experience was an invitation for the both of us to unpack and reexamine our relationship with our families, culture, and our heritage. It’s very special to have a person in your life who has such a vastly different point of view than your own; each day I am urged to look at the world around me differently, with greater patience and care. To more of this. taken in New York, New York by @studioube

i recently came up on a 143 CD collection spanning 4 decades.

amidst this “physical media” craze that’s taking people by storm, i started to think about what going analog really gives us.

is it ownership? is it novelty? i think regardless of the reason behind it, one thing is clear, and it’s that there is no better way to curate your taste than by exposing yourself to the unknown.

out of the collection, i maybe was truly familiar with 9 albums, and only 3 or 4 of them had i listened all the way through, front to back.

this past week of having these cds in my arsenal have resulted in me listening to artists whom i’ve never heard of, and i am beyond grateful to the person who put this together for curating such an eclectic mix.

i’ll make sure to not only take great care of it, but put it to good use. thank you, wherever you are ❤️ taken in In The Studio by @studioube

for @theatregroupasia

Our trip to the Philippines granted me the opportunity to capture some BTS of the cast of TGA’s A Chorus Line. Funnily enough, ACL was the first musical I ever saw. I was in High. school at the time and it also was the catalyst for me starting to perform. It’s been a few days now since they’ve closed, and I wanted to say a huge congratulations to all of you. This production was the definition of a singular sensation. taken in Samsung Performing Arts Theater by @studioube

SINO KA? Episode 14 @bayani.nyc

Bayani and I’s paths crossed multiples times over the last couple years. From @fiestainamerica at American Dream, to @filamartsla FPAC, to here in NYC, we found ourselves in creative Filipino spaces from coast to coast.

Bayani is the definition of a multi hyphenate Filipino that takes our history and relates it to the modern day. His original comic series is the physical manifestation of that. Thank you Bayani, for the work you do to remind us how relevant our history is. taken in Brooklyn, New York by @studioube
