There’s plenty to catch up on.

Phone calls cover a lot. A weekend together leaves room for more.

As Family Weekends bring loved ones to campus, we’re glad to make space for shared meals, long conversations, and a little more time together at The Study. by @studyhotels

The Gray City is turning gold.

A particularly good time of year to get to know Hyde Park, with autumn settling over the University of Chicago and campus just outside our windows. taken in The Study at University of Chicago by @studyhotels

This season brings the Battle of 33rd Street, familiar Ivy League opponents, Friday nights at Homewood and tournament weekends in Hyde Park. In University City, the U.S. Open welcomes the world’s leading squash players, while the Palestra’s centennial season gives basketball fans a few more dates to circle—including Ivy Madness next spring.

Whether you’re returning to familiar seats or getting to know the home team, keep these dates in mind as you plan your next visit to The Study. School colors optional. Old loyalties travel well. by @studyhotels

The day can wait.

A hot shower, a robe, and a little time between one thing and the next.

One of the rituals worth making time for at Study Hotels.

This fall, our postcards celebrate the beauty of place, the comfort of belonging, and the joy of finding your flock through Kathleen L’Hommedieu’s “sheep series.”

The Connecticut-based artist created custom commissions for each Study Hotel inspired by her travels in Ireland and Cornwall capturing sheep, green fields, colorful barns, and dramatic Celtic skies.

On every desk, and in our Living Rooms, you can pick up your own special edition postcard and also view Kathleen’s work on the walls of @thestudyatuniversityofchicago and on view at Aisling Gallery @thestudyat_yale through Oct 21st. by @studyhotels

Jeff Goldstein (@jgoldstein44), Principal and Co-Founder of @digsau_architecture, helped transform the former Blackstone Apartments into @thestudyatjohnshopkins—working with a 1923 structure that had already spent a century at the intersection of campus growth and city life.

For Jeff, adaptive reuse begins with what’s already there: “working with what we have” and “discovering something new in what has been overlooked.” At 3215 North Charles Street, that meant preserving the building’s history while rethinking how it could embrace the campus, connect to the sidewalk, and participate more fully in the life of Charles Village.

In our latest “In Conversation,” Jeff reflects on the Blackstone’s transformation, designing spaces as “civic living rooms,” and what old buildings can contribute to the communities around them.

Join us September 22 for “Old Buildings, New Possibilities: The Power of Urban Adaptive Reuse”, a Living Room Talk with Jeff @thestudyatjohnshopkins.
