💖 My ancestors were already home. No discovery required.

Today, I honor my Montaukett and Occaneechi ancestors. I thank God for the gift of belonging to you...even when the world has tried to make our names a whisper.

I speak those names with pride. I carry you into my prayers. When I need strength, I remember what it took for me to be here.

To the Native American nations still protecting their land, languages, and ways of life: may your voices be heard and your sovereignty respected.

My Afro-Native roots are sacred to me. Ancestors, may the way I live be a thank-you for all you carried.

I love you. 💖

Three simple words we sometimes assume we’ll always have another chance to say.

But we never know which conversation will be the last lucid one.
The last shared laugh.
The last story.
The last moment when they are fully present with us.

So I hold the memories close.

I am grateful for every lesson, prayer, story, laugh, recipe, warning, and piece of wisdom my ancestors passed down to me—both in the earthly realm and now from the spirit realm.

Love doesn’t disappear when someone transitions.
Sometimes, it simply learns another way to reach us.

Say I love you while you can.
And say it often.

💖 God got it right when He blessed me with you.

Happy Birthday to my beautiful Godmother Gwen! 🥳✨ I’m so grateful for a lifetime of memories...from my childhood all the way to the woman I am today.

Cruises, concerts, good food, plenty of laughs, and those simple moments of quality time that somehow become the ones you treasure most. Through it all, you’ve always poured hope, encouragement, love, and a little extra sunshine into my life.

What a blessing it is to grow up with someone and still get to make new memories with them. 🥹💖
