Sunday October 4th
This Sunday at Subsequence

A revered figure within the post-punk/experimental/krautrock underground since 1982, ‘Occupied Head’ is a solo project of Dieter Mauson, currently based in Hamburg, Germany. This event will conclude his tour of Georgia and also feature Scott McCulloch and Christopher Manning playing an array of string, brass and electronics.

Scott McCulloch’s music includes Christian Love Forum, Крот, Thomas Kohut, Lime Works, among several other monikers, bands, and collaborations. He has performed at the likes of Braille Satellite, Berlin Atonal, SOU festival, Dark Mofo, The Mausoleum of Omar Khayyam Neyshabur, and elsewhere. He co-hosts (w. Lewis Fidock) the ‘Indented Head’ show on Mutant Radio, Tbilisi. He regularly speaks and holds sound workshops at art residencies, universities, and galleries. His latest solo release is the LP, ‘A Round of Drinks’ (Live Adult Entertainment, Greece). He is also the author of the novel, Basin (Black Inc., 2022), and the sequence of short fictions, Stray (2024).

Christopher Manning is a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, composer and producer originally from Staten Island, New York and based in Georgia since 2012. He has various projects including Fotgjengeren, which mixes various genres, a plethora of instruments, vocals, field recordings and more. Each album is made with a different cast of collaborators, all of them distinct from each other and defying easy categorization. He's also released works under his own name, recording pieces for various ensembles of instruments and creating electroacoustic compositions. Doors 19:00 by @subsequence2.0

26 September 19:00 debut Tbilisi @_opensecrett_ x @local.gr0up screening held by @bbybequiet in @subsequence2.0

Open Secret is a touring internet cinema and screening series curated by dansdansrev that travels to different places around the globe at irregular intervals. It is a series in which films situated at the intersection of digital culture and cinema are watched together, physically, on the big screen.

Local Gr0up is a Ukrainian platform founded in 2021, moving between publishing, screenings, exhibitions, and other forms of gathering, tracing experimental visions and emerging subcultures across an increasingly hyper-mediated, accelerated world. What began as a local archive has grown into an open constellation of ideas, images, and sounds, building connections between local scenes, distant places, and whatever emerges in between.

On Saturday 12th September we present Oblivion, an audio-visual live performance by @_phonisma_ and @himiko.lost.sun that resides in the emotional and psychological landscapes of remembrance and the unconscious.

Phonisma is the ambient experimental project of Kristine Chelidze, which seeks to probe emotional consciousness through the mutability of sound and the space it occupies.

Himiko is an audio-visual artist supporting the visual side of the performance, answering the music with lyrics, landscapes and shadows that slip through frames.

“In The Middle” exhibition by Masu Mtsariashvili
Opening September 11 19:00
Music by 5Nipss
-In The Middle is an ongoing exploration of this space between leaving and arriving, becoming and belonging, certainty and possibility. The images reflect the shifting emotional landscape of growing up: the weight of decisions, the fear of the unknown, the desire for something beyond what is familiar and the difficulty of knowing when one chapter truly ends.
-Masu Mtsariashvili is a Georgian photographer and creative director working across fashion and documentary photography. Her practice explores youth, identity, environment and the relationship between lived reality and constructed visual worlds. by @subsequence2.0
