OCTOBER MEET THE ARTIST!

It’s a new month and we are delighted to introduce a new member to Sheen Artists.

In this months edition, Melanie Hobbs reveals what led her into painting and how her career in film influences her way of working;

‘Edit edit edit, something you can easily do with abstract art, but you do have to know when to stop. Usually one of my paintings has been at least 7 versions before I have stopped’

Read more on the Sheen Artists website, or comment below and I’ll send you a link.

See more of Melanie’s work @suchma.art

Thanks to fellow member @saltydogpix for the stunning pics, set in the beautiful Richmond Park. And thank you to @gillhaynesart for pulling everything together! taken in Barnes, Mortlake and Sheen, London by @suchma.art

‘Reflecting’ So much is caught up with looking back, nice times, beautiful everyday landscapes. Learn to sit amongst them and reflect on how to be. Just to be. This small piece (20cm x 20 cm) Acrylic on board for me is a mixed storm of happy and sad. But all good to feel emotion and reflect on how it can make life more powerful.

‘The Sky is the Limit’. This has been painted with a family in mind, I see them out enjoying nature together, a world of exploration and explanation as parents teach their children to enjoy the small stuff, which is actually the big stuff.

Inspiration comes from travelling and being curious. We are lucky to be able to make that happen.

Still Sheltering

The rainy days just keep coming at us. In the height of Spring it is ok to be caught out and under a tree for shelter but we are now in June and that is technically a Summer month so I was hoping the only bit of sheltering would be to see this painting on the wall and not to be running from the rain clouds.

Lots to do after selling artwork at Landmark Art Fair and having a sneaky paint in the middle of it all. by @suchma.art

‘Whispering Morning’
Time of the day when you can really be in your own head. Before the curtains are twitching and the noises start shuffling. Time to collect and be with your thoughts. Nicer when it’s pink too.
