The Lit Sisters went on a field trip! Our book club members (minus two who were out of the country) drove to Santa Cruz to hear Alka Joshi speak about the making of her excellent book: The Henna Artist. So good we read the following two books in the trilogy! She was an engaging, funny and elegant speaker. Read this book!!!! #alkajoshi by @suemakingitso

It’s been 6 months since I lost you Rich. It went by both fast and slow. Burning Man is about to start and many are thinking of you and honoring you there. I hope you see and feel it. This time last year you were just finding out why you were having trouble walking — and it all came tumbling down after that. Weirdly, life goes on. I’m managing. I’m doing ok. Dance, friends and family are holding me together. I miss you. #iwillalwaysloveyou by @suemakingitso

We didn’t just stay in nice hotels and go on safari. We tried (and succeeded!) in giving back to the people of Tanzania who need fresh water. The blue water distillers (our donations bought 28!) last 5 years.
The women walk 1-3 miles daily to get dirty and diseased water from a hole dig in the ground to catch rainwater. It felt amazing to help. #freshwater, #stillwaterssafaris, #givingbackfeelsgood by @suemakingitso

The Ocean Calling installation at Ocean Beach today where you can drop a stone into the chute in the booth to “pay” for your call. Pick up the rotary phone and speak to your departed loved one while looking at the sea.
We each spoke to Rich on Fathers Day. We miss him so much….lots of tears. Bittersweet moment. #firstfathersdaywithouthim by @suemakingitso
