Craig Herskowitz is a lifelong Long Islander who has spent his career in public service, with the FBI, the U.S. Department of Justice and the Governor’s office.

Now he’s running for New York State Assembly to bring more of our state tax dollars back home to Long Island, lower costs and property taxes, keep our communities safe, protect our water and health care, and make sure families can afford to build their lives here.

Vote for Craig starting October 24th. Election day is November 3rd. 🗳️ taken in Long Island, NY by @suffolkdems

We’re in the final stretch and I’m spending October connecting directly with the people of NY-01.

I am hosting our next town hall on Tuesday, October 13 in Huntington. This is what true representation looks like and how democracy works best.

I look forward to seeing you all there and addressing the constituents of NY-01 directly. Link to register in bio.

Sunday lunch at Robke’s in Northport with incredible company. The rain couldn’t keep us away 🍝.

The food was delicious, and the conversation was profound. We were all excited to connect and discuss the ways that we want to make a difference in our district that overlaps, and prepare for the upcoming election.

The momentum is real and we are making strides to a Suffolk County with strong leadership and better representation.

Let’s do this in November 🗳️

Hosting town halls and having direct, honest conversations with residents is a vital part of the democratic process.

Thank you to the 160+ residents that came to our packed town hall in Middle Island - our eighth town hall in the past year.

This is what democracy should look like: showing up, listening, and bringing people together. Thank you everyone for showing up.

My next town hall will be in October, stay tuned!

Thank you to News 12 for covering the 2026 SCDC Convention on Tuesday night!

More than 1,000 members came together to make their voices heard and cast their votes for the leadership they want guiding our party. The passion, dedication, and commitment in the room were truly on display throughout the convention.

The results were 57.3% to 42.7%, with Chairman Rich Schaffer re-elected to continue serving as Chair of the Suffolk County Democratic Committee.

Following the vote, the Chairman immediately turned our focus toward the larger mission ahead: bringing Democrats together to defeat Republicans this November.

We’re excited and proud to announce that Chairman Rich Schaffer has won reelection in a resounding victory at our 2026 SCDC Convention!

We want to send a heartfelt thank you to every Suffolk County Democratic Committee member who attended. It was an incredible night to see Democracy in motion with a record breaking number of members present to cast their vote for the future of our party.

We’re also endlessly grateful to the volunteers, staff, and everyone behind the scenes who helped the evening run smoothly. Thank you for the time and care you gave to this convention and to the Committee.

Now we need to be united and pivot to our greater mission as Democrats - to defeat all Republicans this November. taken in Suffolk County, New York by @suffolkdems

Doors knocked. Conversations had. Votes earned. 💪🇺🇸

Great day in Hauppauge with our amazing volunteers and the Islip Dems—and one thing is clear: people want to be heard.

Democrats. Independents. Even Republicans who told us they feel betrayed and have had enough of the chaos and madness in Washington.

Every door matters. Every conversation matters. And we’re going everywhere and talking to everyone.

That’s how we win. One voter at a time. Sign up on Mobilize to volunteer. Link in bio. #democracy #canvassing #vote #congress #longisland taken in Hauppauge, New York by @suffolkdems

🚨MISINFORMATION ALERT 🚨

Despite claims circulating on social media, to ensure the integrity in the upcoming committee elections, the Suffolk County Democratic Committee is following its duly adopted Rules and Regulations for scheduling the Town Committee Organizational meetings.

Section 2 of our Rules and Regulations states that Town Organizational Meetings must be called within 20 to 30 days after the County Committee Organizational Meeting. Our actions and scheduling are guided by this requirement, and we will continue working to ensure that the process complies with our Rules and Regulations. Please see below for the official Rules and Regulations that govern when Town Committee Organizational Meetings must be scheduled.

This provision has remained unchanged for more than 15 years. by @suffolkdems
