Today I had a visit from Shakespeare Lady @cathythecrafter. Cathy knitted these fantastic @shakespearecrafts fairies and witches. She’s also a member of @suffolkwritersgroup and has just published her first novel! 😀#catherinegale #illconceived #debutauthor @writerscentre @ukhandknitting @simplyknittingmag @knittingmagazine taken in Ipswich, Suffolk by @suffolkwritersgroup

The Pink 'star' written by one small wild writer who came to the @wild_words_suffolk post box on Saturday with Dad and smaller brother! Wanting to do so wild writing ✍️ the pink star are memories of a recent holiday!

Maybe around 6 yrs old(?) these wild words are amazing. Impressive joined-up writing, a brilliant idea for wild writing, and superbly executed. Thank you ⭐️

Thank you to ALL wild writers who contributed, and posted or read their words in Stowmarket on Saturday.

Thanks to everyone who posted a poem. Between us, members of SWG performed them all at the Stowmarket open mic today. Simon Black also recited ‘Streets of London’ as a poem which worked beautifully. Such a great day. Here are a few photos. 😀 @maiblackauthor @shakespeareladies @jones_perry @jane_spencer_rolfe @mick.spencer.images @suffolkpoetrysociety @simon_damselfly taken in Stowmarket Suffolk by @suffolkwritersgroup

I love ‘Patching the Puncture’ by Deb Bunt and Peter Berry. I’ve been going through a phase of not reading much lately and this has really helped me get back into the habit. @deb.bunt @woodbridgebooks @dial_lane_books @thebookguildpublishing by @suffolkwritersgroup

Here are some of the prizes in Suffolk Writers Group’s Christmas Bookshop Challenge. To enter, post a bookshop photo in Suffolk Writers Group on Facebook. If you don’t need to live in Suffolk, you can still join the group, and still take part, just tell me when you are posting that it is a shop outside of Suffolk. I’ll be doing a separate draw for non-Suffolk people too where you can win a copy of our poetry anthology ‘A Tapestry of Poetry’ and some chocolate. I’d have liked to make two Christmas book hampers, another one for people outside of Suffolk, but the postage would just be too high, I think. Any questions, comment underneath. 🎄@ottieandthebea @fram.books @redlionbooks @dial_lane_books @disspublishingbookshop @harrisharrisbooks @waterstonesburystedmunds @stillwaterbooksfelixstowe @woodbridgebooks @waterstonesipswich @southwoldbooks @stonham_garden_centre @waterstones taken in Ipswich, Suffolk by @suffolkwritersgroup

To help support local bookshops, many of whom are struggling to make sales, even on the run up to Christmas, I’d like you to post pictures of your local bookshop or book fair on Suffolk Writers Group on Facebook. For every picture you post, you’ll get a virtual raffle ticket. On Sunday 21st, I’ll put all the tickets into a basket and the winner will receive a Christmas hamper of wonderful bookish prizes including a notebook and £20 book voucher generously donated by ‘Ottie and the Bea’, a fabulous bookshop in Framlingham.

So keep posting pictures on Facebook’s SWG group page from this week onwards, as many times as you can. Two pictures per shop maximum. If you have any questions, post them in the comments below. Good luck everyone and happy bookshopping. 😍 @ottieandthebea @fram.books @dial_lane_books @disspublishingbookshop @bookshopcrawluk @stillwaterbooksfelixstowe @woodbridgebooks @waterstonesipswich @thebookguildpublishing @thebookhive @suffolkbookleague @waterstonesburystedmunds taken in Ipswich, Suffolk by @suffolkwritersgroup
