Former NoCo team who individually will continue to race, adventure, push limits and inspire and empower women to do the same

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

It’s the end of an era..

Sugar Beets Cycling was an idea sparked by 2 elite MTB racers who wanted a platform to race supported. We wanted to bridge the gap between top Cat 1 racers and Pro level.

We did just that.

We lined up next to Kate Courtney, Chloe Woodruff, and Katerina Nash.

We raced national level courses across the country.

We didn’t finish last.

Hopefully somewhere along the way we inspired you to do the same. To push yourself into an uncomfortable place and see how much damn fun it could be! Maybe your win was riding the dams for the first time, maybe it was competing in your first race, or maybe it was leveling up your category—congrats for doing the f*ing thing!

To every woman who raced for The Beets—you are incredibly talented and fierce! I’m a better athlete because of time spent with you, and I hope you feel the same.

To all of our sponsors and supporters—you helped fund The Dream and I never would have had the opportunity to be pulled from a Pro Crit in Arizona without you.

To every girl who wants to race mountain bikes—you are so strong! Every ride, every race is an opportunity to grow and improve. Don’t worry if you suck at first. You’ll get better and better. It took me 10 years to move from Cat 3 to Pro. Be patient and keep shredding.

Keep it fun & dirty,
Sam Smash

The long awaited return of one of NoCo's most revered bike events is happening THIS SUNDAY!!

The Beets will be slinging stickers for those extra watts and peddling bike parts, pieces, and pants. Amongst other things. There will be 40+ other orgs and folks with outdoor and bike gear too! We'll be accepting Venmo and cash.

Make it a date night or a gal pal night, pick up some new to you stuffs, and be ready for Rio marg or two 😋

We hear a little Sugar Beet bling adds like 25 watts to your climbing power..

So if you like being strong on the bike, find us Friday and ask for a shiny new sticker!

During our fine FoCo Bike to Wherever holiday tomorrow, you’ll see Beets cruising around searching for the best burritos and donuts. Then at Bike from Work Bash at @odellbrewing you’ll definitely catch us with a free brew and a Cheers!

“Feeling like a whole new woman!”

Those were the first words Sam said to Dani @knottedpinebodywork after her massage last night.

“After a stressful summer and 18 months of struggling with long COVID complications, my body was in dire need of a reset. Dani is so intuitive, she knows exactly what your body needs! Thanks for being part of my healing journey!” by @sugarbeetscycling

Beets on the podium at Vail GoPro! 3rd place didn’t show up for our expert podium but we cheered for her anyway! Really stoked to share a podium with the legendary Rebecca Howard after a grueling, hot day on the GoPro xc course. Yay mtb racing! Prickly pear impalements, sabotaged skewers, dryer lint fire starters, and that’s just a peek into our 4-day camping trip in Moab!

7 of our 9 person Beet Bushel slept under the stars in the desert mountain bike mecca. With varying levels of health, fitness, and competitive goals this season, it was wonderful spending evening together by the campfire and constantly searching for keys to the bathroom.

Sincere thank you to the local businesses who continue to support our dreams, ambitions, and goals to inspire others. This year is full of promise and we are excited to burn bright!
