Back from holidays and straight into catching up on everything, with a rather long to-do list staring back at me. Delighted to say I’ve managed to get through a good chunk of it!

And it hasn’t all been social media (although there’s been plenty of that too).

The new CRM I’m developing for a client is coming along nicely, I’ve been working on an online shop for an artist, getting website quotes together for another client and confirmed a new project 👍

Then there’s been email marketing, website updates, editing Reels, writing captions, scheduling content and keeping Network Ireland Wicklow members up to date with upcoming events as part of my voluntary work.

Throw in client calls, emails, follow-ups and all those little jobs that seem to appear from nowhere… and that’s another week gone!

Anyway, the list is looking a lot healthier than it did on Monday so now it’s time for a catch up coffee with friends 👏

September definitely ended on a high☀️

After a very busy few weeks of client work, getting ahead, scheduling content and trying to remember every last thing before I went away, the laptop finally closed and I headed off for a rare holiday with my mum, dad and sister 🏖️ I can’t remember the last time we got to spend quality time together like that 💕

Lots of sunshine, swimming, good food, exploring the shops and absolutely no idea what day of the week it was — just what a holiday should be.

I’m back at the desk now, caught up after my first week back and ready to see what October brings.

Although looking at these photos, I could quite happily go back… 😎

And I’m off ✈️ 🏖️

Very happy to be finished up for a lovely long week away.

It did mean getting the packing pretty much done at the weekend, but that left this week free to concentrate on getting everything sorted for my clients before I disappeared.

And as the carousel suggests… there was quite a lot to sort, but all good 😂

Posts scheduled, content prepared, emails sent, handovers done and as many loose ends tied up as I could find inc the ones that appeared only five minutes after I thought I was finished.

But the laptop is closed now and I’m on my way. Holibobs here I come 😎

It’s not really a complete weekend without a walk in Glen of the Downs woods 🍂

We’re very lucky to have this pretty much in our back garden — perfect whether there’s only time for a quick 30-minute loop or we head off on the longer 90-minute circuit.

For Tess there’s always sticks, lots of fallen trunks to jump over and plenty of investigating along the way 🐾

We always have the Octagon look out along the way with that special view of the Sugarloaf. One I never get tired of.

Definitely one of our favourite local spots 💚

Back to school for my youngest today and college for eldest just round the corner. And it’s very much back to business too. And all those jobs that got put into the “we’ll do that after the summer” pile? Suddenly they’re back on the list.

That’s certainly what September is looking like around here, content plans to get organised, websites to update, emails to send and autumn campaigns to get moving.

There’s actually something quite nice about getting back into a routine and looking at what needs attention for the months ahead.

When I started working as a Marketing VA, I knew I’d be learning new things.

I just didn’t realise quite how varied those things would be 😂

One minute I’m learning about clover and Hereford cattle, the next I’m figuring out cleaning drones, osteoporosis or what’s involved in putting on an art exhibition.

And every now and again, I apparently become a model too 👠

But there is actually a point to all this random knowledge…

To market a business well, I need to understand it. The industry, the customers, the terminology and all those little details that make one business different from another.

And that’s genuinely one of my favourite parts of what I do.

Although I’m still slightly disappointed to discover that a shot list doesn’t involve a trip to the bar 😆🍸

Some of my favourite projects start with a sentence that makes me think…

“I’ve absolutely no idea what that means.” 😅

That was this one.

Once we unpacked it, though, it became a really interesting strategic project. It wasn’t about LinkedIn posts at all. It was about helping the right people discover my client’s expertise by strengthening existing relationships and being intentional about where she shows up.

It’s a reminder that marketing isn’t always about creating more content.

Sometimes it’s about making better use of the connections you already have.

I love projects that make me learn something new, stretch my thinking and solve a problem that isn’t immediately obvious.

And yes… now I know exactly what a LinkedIn Ecosystem is. 😉

2,354 metres ⛰️

A long climb, plenty of water breaks, a few tired legs… and views that made every step worthwhile.

Reaching the summit of Pico Comodoto (2,354m) was one of the highlights of our week in the Pyrenees. Standing there, surrounded by mountain peaks stretching into the distance, was one of those moments you just stop and take in.

Photos never quite capture the scale of it, but hopefully these give a little glimpse of what an unforgettable day it was.

If the Pyrenees aren’t already on your walking list… I’d definitely recommend adding them 🥾

People often see the finished post. What they don’t see is everything that happens beforehand.

For one client, an idea for a solo exhibition became Save the Dates, invitations, Stories, exhibition graphics and a content plan to make sure everything worked together.

That’s the part I love.

Whether it’s an event, a product launch or an ongoing social media presence, my role is to take all the moving pieces and turn them into a clear, organised plan.

Because great marketing is rarely just one post… it’s the planning, consistency and storytelling that happens behind the scenes.

Some places really do take your breath away… and Monte Perdido National Park was definitely one of them🏔️

This was one of the highlights of my recent trip to the Pyrenees.

Towering peaks, waterfalls, wildflowers, narrow mountain paths and scenery that somehow became more spectacular around every corner.

It’s impossible to capture the scale of it all on camera, but here’s a little glimpse of a very special place.

Fair to say my camera roll is now full of mountains… and I have a feeling a few more Pyrenees moments will be making an appearance here over the coming weeks 🥾
