Yesterday was all about our children and getting them ready for the new school year!

It was a pleasure joining Councillor Donyja Allen-Thompson for the Montego Bay North Back-to-School Treat at Glendevon Primary School, where we spent the day supporting our young people and families as they prepare for another year of learning.

Beyond the school supplies and activities, the day was about reminding our children that their community believes in them, supports them and wants to see them succeed.

Thank you to everyone who helped to make the day possible, and best wishes to all our students for a productive and successful school year ahead.

International Youth Day was a meaningful one for us at the Grace & Staff Community Development Foundation.

We had the opportunity to engage more than 100 young people at the Caribbean Maritime University for a day focused on technology, innovation and the opportunities that are emerging for young people.

Throughout the day, they explored the campus, experienced CMU’s simulators, learnt about different career pathways and participated in an engaging panel discussion on navigating the digital world.

What I appreciated most was seeing how curious and engaged they were. It reinforced the importance of creating opportunities for young people to experience new environments, ask questions and discover pathways they may not have considered before.

There is so much potential among our young people, and experiences like these are another way of helping them to realize the possibilities ahead.

Thank you to the Caribbean Maritime University and the Ministry of Education, Youth, Skills and Information for partnering with us.

It was a pleasure reconnecting with Representative David Huddleston during his first visit to Jamaica.

After first meeting in June, it was wonderful to welcome him and see him experience the Denbigh Agricultural, Industrial and Food Show, one of Jamaica’s premier showcases of agriculture and innovation.

We also continued our discussions on opportunities to strengthen ties between Georgia and Jamaica in agriculture, education, trade and youth development. by @sujaeboswell

What happens when you bring dozens of young people together on one football field?

You create something bigger than football.

Yes, there were goals. There were saves. There were winners. But the moments I’ll remember most happened between the whistles. The celebrations after a good play, the laughter, the banter from the sidelines, teammates encouraging each other, and seeing everyone completely in the game. by @sujaeboswell

The National Housing Trust’s 50th Anniversary Church Service in Montego Bay was a good occasion of thanksgiving and reflection.

The sermon on “Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labour in vain” was a fitting reminder that the strongest foundations are built on faith, purpose and service. by @sujaeboswell

It was a privilege to join Prime Minister Dr. the Most Hon. Andrew Holness, Member of Parliament Julian Robinson, Managing Director Martin Miller, my fellow Board Directors, and the National Housing Trust team for the official handover of the Vineyard Town Housing Development.

The ceremony showcased innovative approaches that are making homeownership more accessible for Jamaicans.

Through the NHT’s new Advanced Deposit Loan Programme, eligible contributors 35 years and under can now access up to J$2 million from the amount they qualify to borrow to help cover their deposit, reducing one of the biggest barriers to purchasing a home.

Additionally, developments such as Vineyard Town introduce an innovative resale arrangement, giving homeowners the option of selling their units back to the NHT, helping to preserve affordability while providing greater flexibility.

As one of the youngest Directors of the NHT, I am especially proud to support policies that expand access to homeownership and ensure that more Jamaicans, particularly young professionals and first-time homeowners, have a genuine opportunity to own a home.

Congratulations to the new homeowners as they begin this exciting chapter! by @sujaeboswell

Today, the National Housing Trust began its 50th anniversary celebrations with a thanksgiving service at Webster Memorial, with a live radio broadcast to reach more Jamaicans.

I am grateful to serve as Chairman of the NHT’s 50th Anniversary Committee as we honour the past and bolster our future. 🙏🏽 by @sujaeboswell

Too many of our children are carrying silent scars.

Trauma, instability, neglect and grief often leave impacts that are not immediately visible, but they shape how children learn, relate, and navigate the world around them.

I was pleased to contribute to this important discussion in representation of our GK Group CEO Frank James and through the work of the Grace and Staff Community Development Foundation. Conversations around children’s mental health must extend beyond counselling rooms and become part of how we build stronger homes, schools, and communities.

Every child deserves to feel seen, heard, supported, and valued. When we strengthen the emotional foundation of our children, we strengthen the future of Jamaica. 🇯🇲 by @sujaeboswell

Great to have met with Rep. David Huddleston, State Representative for Georgia’s 72nd House District, and Dr. Russell Crutchfield, Chief Operating Officer in the Office of Governor Brian P. Kemp.

Discussions centered on opportunities for partnership in youth development, agriculture, education, and community advancement.

We explored areas of shared interest and the potential for collaboration that can create meaningful opportunities for young people and strengthen connections between the State of Georgia & Jamaica. by @sujaeboswell
