This experience is still something so surreal to me. I went into this never expecting to win anything and here I am. I have to really thank everyone who’s supported me along the way and has been there for me. Body building isn’t easy, but I love the challenge.

My first year at PSU, I was diagnosed with PCOS & I was unhappy with myself. My roommate and I decided to change our lifestyle, and she became my gym partner for four years. Isabella, your support helped me fall in love with the gym, and I’m grateful for that.

In late August, after years of persuasion, I decided to compete. My life was at its best—I had just graduated from PSU and was starting grad school. Getting out of a long-term relationship the first week of prep although challenging, my commitment never wavered. I believe my experiences & belief in God have built me, and I’m proud of my perseverance.

Having Kevin and Amelia on prep with me was treasured. Sharing this journey with Kevin, my sibling, is rare and special. I’m forever grateful to our parents and God for giving us each other.

To my family and friends, thank you for your patience and support. My parents are exceptional, and I feel lucky to have them. My best friend, Bry, has been my bestfriend & therapist, witnessing AND sharing my struggles. Her loyalty is unmatched, and I can’t thank her enough.

Lastly, my coach, Pete, has been our greatest supporter. Without him, none of this would have been possible. His encouragement motivated me, and I’m thankful for his unwavering belief in us.

Being an “athlete” wasn’t my dream, but I’ve fallen in love with bodybuilding, and it’s become a part of me. I’m excited about my career’s future. This may be my first competition, but it won’t be my last.

Time to get back to work.

To @pennstate:

Thank you for the most surreal 4 years of my life. Coming to this school has been a challenge, but a challenge that I’ll forever be grateful for. Thank you for the experiences and the opportunities you have given me.

Thank you to my wonderful parents and my dear brother for being the most supportive group of people i’ll ever have in my life. Thank you for getting me through these 4 years. To my supportive friends that have also stuck along throughout my journey, I couldn’t have done it without any of you.

As sad as I am about this chapter of my life coming to an end, I’m excited for what’s to come. With that being said, I’m proud to announce that I will be continuing my education and pursuing a M.A in Clinical Child/Developmental Psychology with licensure in School Psychology. Penn State not only helped me get to this point of my life, but has inspired me to help make a change in our youth, the future of our society.
