Typical Sunday….

So, I believe the direction was “Go into the hallway to get your laundry.” Not “Go into the hallway and catch a tiny panicked bird and then video him while he poops on you.”

My temporary BFF flew to safety, and I miss him already!

🤷‍♀️I guess I’m a bird mom? It’s so cute, and so gross at the same time…

So, how about that moment when you eat some tortilla chips in bed? And you’re dipping them in a little to-go container of hot sauce? And you put the box and empty container on your nightstand before falling asleep?

And you half wake up at some point in the night and there’s something strange in your mouth? And you realize you’ve sleep-ripped the plastic container into chip-sized pieces and are now chewing on one of them…

So, how about that moment when you do laundry? And your blanket isn’t quite dry? So you drape it over your vacuum cleaner for the night?
Cut to that other moment the next morning when you open your eyes and almost have a level 10 full-system meltdown until you realize there is NOT in fact, a small skinny goblin hiding in your room?

GIRL BRAIN, ACTUALLY OPENS TOMORROW NIGHT!

We run December 11-21 at @Roxy124Street with special guests @LeTabbs and @FabTiffHall!

Last night, we had the chance to run through the show for our sweet pals, @asseTpmatS (who did our production design + choreo) and @BrianneJang (who has been taking our photos since the beginning).

We are incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to work with the generous and talented human beings at @Theatre_Network and we can’t wait to share this silly, fun, slightly sentimental show with all of you!

Tickets can be booked through the Theatre Network site or bought in person.

See you soon, we hope!

We have been having a blast in tech rehearsals for our upcoming run of Girl Brain, Actually at @roxy124street!

We are thrilled to be opening this Thursday as part of @theatre_network’s MainStage series! It’s been a dream come true to be in the Nancy Power Theatre; it has given us the chance to build a show with more production value than ever before. The entire technical team at the Roxy has been a delight, and working with @candysto28 is, as always, a masterclass in precision, organization and care.

Last night after tech, we zipped over to @grindstonetheatre to join @hamstagramwich, @nat.and.chrissy and @appincastle for the Holiday episode of SketchUp!

It was awesome to be onstage with other sketch troupes, seeing their work shine and celebrating our sketch comedy scene.

One of the acts was only on their second performance ever as a troupe; their genuine excitement and thoughtful preparation reminded us so much of where we started, in that same sideways dressing room, eagerly jamming in lines before performing an all new show.

Last night, the theatre buzzed like it did in the beginning. It felt joyful to be back on that stage together, where it all started. A real full circle moment.

This Thursday, we are at the Roxy. We are working with Bradley Moss, who we collectively respect and admire.

We have a dream team supporting us on the design side, the technical side, and our special guests are dynamite.

We cannot wait to share what we have been working on with you. It is going to be very silly and very fun, like always.

Love,
Girl Brain

We’ve been a little quiet over here… but not for long! 🎄✨

We’re thrilled to share that Girl Brain is back prepping for Christmas at the @roxy124street! 💃💫

Tickets are ON SALE NOW for our shows this holiday season through @theatre_network and we cannot wait to celebrate with all of you.

This year’s show, “Girl Brain, Actually”, is directed by the incomparable Bradley Moss before he says his final farewell to Theatre Network. 💛

It’s all a little bittersweet… but if there’s one thing Girl Brain knows, it’s that laughter often lives in those very moments. ❤️

Get your tickets early and let’s make this holiday one to remember! 🎁

Love,
Girl Brain

Have you been secretly wondering about the return of Girl Brain? YOU’RE NOT ALONE!

While we can’t spill all the beans just yet, what we can say is that we’ll be back this Christmas season AND… we’ll be joined by guest director, Bradley Moss!

Our next show will run December 11-21 (Thur-Sun) in the Nancy Power Theatre at @Roxy124Street!

Expect all new material, an all new format and the same old silliness, laughter and love that you can always expect from the three of us!

Stay tuned for more information!

Much love,
Girl Brain

We came, we canoedled, we conquered! 🛶💪
From an exciting start, to rainstorms, to eating sand for breakfast, to 36km winds, to rapids, to a little bit of bad luck, to the best team rally and recon I’ve ever seen, last weekend was one for the books!😎
