A little escape right here in Cleveland. ☀️🌊

Cleveland may be doing its thing with the weather, but we’re always in a summer state of mind. 😎

Great food, great drinks, and Lake Erie right outside the window.

For Tony and Kristine George, this is personal. Their son, Mikey, was born with Down syndrome and they know the joy, love, and value of a life like his. 🤍

When they heard about a YouTuber and his wife ending their pregnancy after a Down syndrome diagnosis, they were heartbroken. They decided to turn that heartbreak into help.

They committed $1.2 million of their own money to create the Life Grant through their nonprofit, @awakeningangelsorg offering $5,000 grants to eligible families welcoming a baby with Down syndrome through birth or adoption.

I sat down with Tony to hear the heart behind that decision, the love for Mikey that continues to inspire their work, and why supporting these families means so much to him and his wife.

That commitment also reaches into his restaurant, @summerplacecle where he donates the profits to Awakening Angels to help fund its mission.

Every child deserves to be loved, valued, and supported. And parents facing an unexpected diagnosis deserve to know they have support, too.

Watch to hear Tony’s story, see the beautiful pictures of Mikey, and learn more about the Life Grant.

Follow Awakening Angels and visit awakeningangels.org for details and application information. Please share this reel…you never know which family needs to hear this today. 🤍 by @summerplacecle

October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month, and this year’s theme is “Celebrating Value and Talent.”

At Summer Place, we believe talent doesn’t come with a label. People with disabilities bring skills, determination, creativity and so much to the workplace. This month and every month, they deserve the opportunity to show what they can do.💪

We honor the incredible talent that makes Summer Place so special. That’s our mission. Profits from every meal served benefit our charitable partner Awakening Angels. ✨

Come for the great food and drinks, and leave knowing you are helping our local community with Down syndrome and Autism through the work of @awakeningangelsorg 🙏🏼🍷🍽️✨

Step outside your usual order.
Oven-roasted rabbit, smoked acorn squash, delicata squash, Swiss chard and date beurre rouge, prepared special by @chef_michael_lovano

This beautiful dish is a weekend special at Summer Place. ✨

Earthy. Savory. A little sweet. And seriously delicious.

Pair it with a Pinot Noir, a bright Gamay/Beaujolais, or a beautifully textured Chardonnay.

Or keep it close to home and pour a glass of our new DAMIJU house wine, created with the spirit and mission of Summer Place in mind.

Come hungry. Stay for the view. 🍷
