Sun Swept β€’ Germinations πŸͺˆβœ¨ β€’ Pre-orders open tomorrow via @aural_canyon Bandcamp! β€’ Release will be 12/21/24 with two tracks available to stream tomorrow 12/6 on Bandcamp. So grateful to @aural_canyon for the support and cannot wait to share these pieces with you 🩡 β€’ Germinations, the debut album from Colorado musician Sun Swept, is pastoral, heady music that travels through layers of sparkling ethereal flutes and beds of droning synths. Different textures from spacious reverb to granular flecks are extracted from the flute through electronic processing. Each composition is based on a loose structure for improvisation and is different each time when performed live. Recordings were all captured at home. The music on Germinations is serene but with an experimental and even noisy edge at times. Some pieces are joyful and lively and others are slow and contemplative. The album is inspired by the Rocky Mountains, alpine lakes, clouds, wind, breath, and classic new age flute tapes. Flute, tenor recorder, and synthesizers performed and recorded by Sun Swept/Sarah Christiansen β€’ This clip is from Diffraction, the second track on the tape. #flute #newage #ambient taken in Rocky Mountains, Colorado by @sun_swept_

We are ten days out from the start of Ghost Canyon and we are extremely excited to highlight a special collaboration for this year’s Fest: Ryan Wong & Sun Swept! Ryan has been a songwriting force in the Denver music scene since 2019. Whether it’s with his solo work or in Supreme Joy, Ryan has created a formidable discography that touches everything from noise to surf rock and even some touches of soul. Sun Swept is the nom de plume of Sarah Christiansen. Sarah creates music through a variety of methods and tools. Most prominently, her flute playing evokes an expansive palette of sound and color, not unlike a Colorado mountain sunset. Both of these musicians have been favorites of ours for a while. Having them part of the Fest, and in collaboration for the first time no less, promises to be one of the highlights of the weekend. Grab your tickets for their show at @hqdenver with @kathryn__mohr and @holy_sons ASAP. And don’t forget to grab your tickets for the rest of the weekend before they sell out!!!! by @sun_swept_
