we made an album!

thanks to everyone that has participated in bringing it to life by playing on it, encouraging us from near and afar, and for _literally_ making it exist by listening to it.

this was a collaboration of many minds and it's left me just wanting to keep making music with friends. so we must have done something right!

Naomi Juniper is a freak-folk songwriter from New York City, blending a love for traditional music and mystical poetics with her training in free improvisation and extended vocal techniques. Watch a clip of Naomi in this post!

Vacation Friends is a moniker for our sweet lil music collective that has grown organically over the past few years. The visualization on slide 2 is for anyone who’s seen me (Kristin), John, Zach, Steven, or Sarah posting about performing with various bands and has asked the question: “What, how many bands are you in? Which is which?”

Long story short, we’re basically all in each other’s bands and we’re going to celebrate that on 10/27.

@macinblackattack invited me to play a show with her for her grandmother's 90th birthday at her church in Cobden, IL

we re-learned a bunch of songs from when we lived in Gainesville together over 10 years ago and then ripped for old time's sake

it was such a treat to get to play together again in a beautiful room, to revisit these time capsule songs, and to meet so many of the wonderful loving people in Mac's life

a drifting half-elf bard sings for his dinner, hiding his pain with a hollow smile. what is he running from? who was he meant to be? why do his sweetest memories haunt him as his darkest nightmares? the DND campaign that inspired this song was never finished, so the answers to these questions remain forever a secret between dungeonmaster and player...

"You're the Bard" is track 3 on Warrens & Wyrmlings, an EP about a pair of bards, a fighter, a warlock, and an evil wizard, available on vinyl through the Young Legs Bandcamp, and on streaming everywhere.

this is the moodiest track on the EP by a country mile, and i'm deeply grateful to Elijah for bringing it to life with the emotionally compelling visuals of a 1921 German production of Hamlet. the bard matched with The Bard!

Rotate your phone to the left. Got this idea from the Odyssey trailer. Clearly my “drug-tastic” video for Scenery operates on a similarly Homeric scale. Huge thanks to @thebigness @young_legs_band and @sunk.coast for spending a whole day arranging flowers around me while I laid in the grass to make this happen.

If you haven’t already, head over to my Bandcamp and order the vinyl split Young Legs and I are putting out! Records should ship in about a month.

new 3-song ep out now (link in bio)! worked on it over the winter/early spring with the fantastic @sunk.coast in his log cabin-y studio/winter fortress. please give it a listen/save as it really helps in the algorithm!

the ep's roughly about how someone has to be there when the world ends and so it might as well be you...
