Screeching through the bowels of the city, A train-from 59th to 125th; I catch a glimpse of my reflection in the subway car window, fedora slightly cocked, blue-brown glasses, grey beard seasoned with a sense of pride and concern~What happened to my city-the whole planet on an island? My eyes reflect my thoughts, confirming I was no longer that kid riding between the train cars, cutting up with friends, traveling home on a graffiti covered car at 6am, after partying at the garage all night…I am now the oldest one on a clean colorful train car, at 3pm, sitting between worn out young people living new experiences beyond their years, with invisible tears reflected in their eyes -underlined with darker bags than mine, preoccupied with profiles and reflections in a cellphone line, a renewed New York State of mind. In peace and divine love I pray for their future, for I am fine - Fine being born at the right time. ~stONE~ by @sunseye

I just loooove playing with these folks💥. Please send pics or vids if you can. We had mad fun on Friday with Vienna Carroll and the Folk. OMGoddess!!! We just lost the smooth soul-try sexy sophisticated SoulSista of Jazz; Cassandra Wilson. Thank you for the melodic moody music that moved our soul in such a way that only you can. We lost an another Sheba baby with a golden voice, JoHanna D. We worked together in a play at the National Black Theatre winning several awards then touring throughout the New England area and a special tour in Tokyo and Osaka Japan. She played Diana Washington like no one else. Those were great memories I will always carry with me. The accapella song I arranged for you with Mike and Rick was always a highlight as you entered the stage with “What a difference a day makes”. 😊 We were family. Now you must be singing with the other Sheba Angels Marsha, Barabara and Gloria. In my mind I could hear the beautiful music raining down from heaven. Rest well my friend. 🎙️ 🎶☝🏽❤️🙏🏽💐 by @sunseye

This past weekend my mother-in-law suddenly passed away. As we prepare her funeral arrangements please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. As you could imagine it’s been a tough couple of days.
