Roll no. 42 : delivering on time 🛵❤️

It was 11pm on a Wednesday night, I was returning back home. On my way I found this person waiting to pick up their order. That kept me wondering how easy it is for me to surf through the delivery apps and order my favourite food yet how much effort goes into actually delivering it? Thus I decided I’ll stop pressing the “where is my order” button on the app’s support page whenever I find out that my order is going to be late by 5 minutes.

Roll no. 40 & Roll no. 41 :

I photographed these people during my trip to Spiti. @prathee_30 was pulling this little guy’s legs and he was cutely responding to it. That very moment, that magnificent smile felt like magic amidst the soul wrenching cold 🥶. And a few minutes after that I was uttering to everyone “this is the best trip of my life”. Again, you don’t just travel to places, you travel to people.

Inktober starts today, and I’m planning to do it after two years. Let’s see where it goes! For me, it’s going to be “facetober” because I do want to draw more people for the rest of 2026 ❤️

Making the simplest things become special is the secret to being inside of life. Love how these moments are so simple yet puts a big smile on our face. If you still don’t know, I really really love humans being humane.

Roll no. 36 ; Vagamon Uncle.

The breathtaking meadows in vagamon were rather “breath-taking”. While we climbed that 100m climb and reached the top, we were exactly distracted by the extremely exciting views, even more so by the people flying kites. Naturally, we also started flying kites. And I’d definitely vouch that it is one of the peakest human experiences ever. When the sun was about to set, and we were politely asked by the officials to leave because it is closing time, that’s when I realised that I only got to enjoy flying kites but didn’t really get to soak in the views or even watch the sunset from the mountains. As we were walking back to our vehicle, I started mumbling to my friend nearby, “aunnn, naa photos, videos kuda edukkalaa” in a rather cutely saddened - going to miss this place - kinda tone. And suddenly out of nowhere, this uncle in a forest department kind of uniform came and replied to my statement earlier “ashooo onnu paakaliyaa, avide oru chaya kada und adhula irndhu konja mela ponga views nallaah irkuu..” (ignore my poor transcribing skills 🙁) We were actually awestruck and shocked and surprised. It was so very kind of him to say that to a random girl mumbling something to herself. We thanked him multiple times and rushed to see the sunset. And oh my my, how could I even express that feeling in actual words? The sun was setting with painted skies in one direction, beautiful, mesmerising curves of meadows in one direction, darkness of the night blooming in another direction. We just literally went and touched grass. That was it. It was undoubtedly a visual, heartful treat. If only I hadn’t mumbled the disappointment earlier, if only that uncle didn’t reply to us earlier, we might have missed this soulful experience. I think the very point of travelling involves moments where a complete stranger’s kindness can elevate your entire experience into a beautiful dimension. I think you don’t just travel to places, you travel to people. On a random road, a random kid devouring their ice cream can instantly put a smile on your face. I think humankind has this talent, of making humans feel more humane.

Roll number (s) / member (s) 26 : Kathhi sharpener uncle 🔪💥

Back when I was a kid, there used to be this uncle who passes by our street every Saturday yelling “saaaanaaaaam pidikradhuuuu” with a big machine on his shoulders. One day, out of curiosity I asked my mom about this and she said he sharpens knives, just like we sharpen our pencils. I was mind blown. Thinking how nice it’d be if someone also had sharpening pencils as their profession because I used to always break the pencil while sharpening it 🤡. Fast forward to last Sunday, when I randomly spotted this uncle with the knife sharpening machine, I was super excited and shocked, I felt really happy and really sad that professions like these still existed. Happy that they’re not extinct, Sad that they’re endangered. I wanted to have a conversation with him, about how his business is doing. But he flew away like fire. Hoping to see him next time and maybe show this artwork.
