these babes deserve a feature on the grid cuz they are THE BESTEST!!! Growing up I never loved having a Jan bday cuz…..🥶 (and let’s be real a pool party or lake day sounds like a rad way to celebrate 😎), but these sweet friends truly made my day feel like summertime the way they warmed my lil heart ❤️‍🔥 I always feel a giant gush of gratitude on 1/12 because yall love sooooo dang big 🥹

walking in a western wonderland ❤️

late Monday night (after experiencing the glory of bryce) I made the snap decision to drive the 2.5 hrs to Page, AZ. Besides an almost mishap with a cop along the way (who then followed me miles to my hotel at midnight just to warn me of a recent incident where a couple was abducted while camping but then escaped and their captors were still at large 😅), it was a lovely drive under a dark expansive sky sprinkled with the brightest stars.

early Tuesday morning I found myself pushing a kayak off a rocky beach and into the cool waters of the Colorado River. My route had me paddle several miles to antelope creek and then through the massive rock wall lined waterway. It wound around and came to a dead end which was the beginning of the antelope slot canyon trail. lemme tell ya, Antelope rocks need no filter 😍…they are a brilliant rust red. I wandered through the slots marveling at the uniquely shaped formations, rolling and swirling around me. It was miles of magic (minus another bare feet situation which we won’t discuss further 💀)

The finale of my wild west adventure was an epic view of the famous horseshoe bend Wednesday morning on my way back to St. George. It was all that folks claim it is 😍 (but so windy that day I thought it might blow me over the edge.)

Thanks for the memories. I mean just wow is all I still think almost a month later. This trip was absolutely everything and more ❤️

bryce bryce baby 😏

I met Bryce on a Monday and ohhh what a day 😍. I had just driven from Zion; the sky a clear blue and the rocks all around a deep red. Even after 5 days in Utah, I still marveled at such a sight. The drive to Bryce Canyon was a windows down, music up kinda ride. And I can still feel the wind in my hair. I got to Bryce later in the day than expected (because spontaneous exploring mode was full on, duhhh)…so I only had time for a 7 miler. But heavens it was epic. I chose the Rim, Navaho loop, Peekaboo loop trail and I give it a 💯. I passed a few horseback riders along the way, but very rarely any other hikers (most likely due to the fact that I started much later in the day). Man, what a world…I was in awe the entire time 🤯. Had I landed on Mars? Yep. I’ll never ever forget that day and the adventure I had…every twist, turn, and family of hoodoos etched in my memory forever (sigh) That was SO freaking fantastic ❤️

I like big rocks and I cannot lie 😉

ZION: there are no words to sum up this life-changing adventure. To be in this glorious place…exploring and breathing it all in was a feeling like no other (eyes wide and heart bursting the entire time). I literally stood in awe of everything surrounding me from sunrise to sunset. I planned 3 epic hikes. My first taste of @zionnps was 9 miles to The Subway…seeing the big daddy red rocks stretching their wide arms all around me for the first time literally blew my mind. I had to get a permit for this hike and it was also a “path finding” trail which was super thrilling for me! Besides a mishap with falling in a water hole, a blister, & my boot (which resulted in a partial barefoot ending)…it was an incredible first day.
On my second day in Zion I met up with a sweet old pal @mmanatee and together we hiked 10 miles to the Observation Point via the Stave Spring trailhead. The elevation gains on this one (mixed with the change in altitude) gave us a fun challenge 💪🏼, but the view of Zion from the top was a priceless reward. It was breathtaking…felt like we were on top of the world (even looking down on the famous Angels Landing spot). Unforgettable day and LOVED having a buddy with me ❤️ (cont. in comments)
