“Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?” ✨

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

As summer comes to an end, I’m reflecting on how warm and wonderful this season has been.
Full of sweat, joy, birthdays, travel and laughing so hard you cry, I couldn’t have asked for a better summer. I love my people and everyone that made this summer bearable through the heat, you’re worth it.

32 was the year I found myself again.

I think started living instead of surviving.

I found joy again. I found passion again. I started asking “but what if I did?” instead of just saying no.

I experienced holy moments among friends, in theaters, in stadiums, in backyards, on beaches, over coffee, with screaming children. These are just some of those moments.

I dusted off the cobwebs grown thick in grief and I started living of out excitement and joy instead of fear and doom.

I was inspired by new music and new art, by 50,000 voices screaming together, by songs sung under twinkle lights and oak trees, by the songs that raised me and the songs that changed me.

I allowed myself to rest, guilt free. To linger in pajamas and do nothing all day but snuggle my boys and listen to music together. I challenged myself to work hard and to put in the time that my body needs to become strong long term, instead of falling back on pain as an excuse. I started to become a mother and a caregiver who can lift heavy equipment and hike miles with a growing child on my back.

I had days and weeks of darkness instead of months. I cried less sad tears and more happy ones. I hugged people tighter and tried to check in more and be present, even from afar. I started giving back from what my own trauma taught me.

I tried new hobbies and allowed myself to not be good at them (enneagram 3s know…) I found myself apart from music and also wrote a lot of new songs.

I’m not sure what 33 has in store, but I enter it with anticipation and peace.

I’ve been having some more fun. My first house painting turned out prettily!
I’ve also learned that the 0.5 camera setting makes for tricky letters ##selbstgemacht #malerei #painting #miniportaits

America Part II 🇺🇸 for my memory bank. I’m still feeling so full of joy having returned from NYC, Nashville and Minneapolis a week ago. I am so especially grateful to @mitchellous and @supermolls for welcoming me into their magical slipstream- you are both beautiful. Also to all the other WONDER FULL friends along the way. Super excited to start sharing the songs on the new year. They are 🔥 (at least I think so) - think Kate Bush, early Madonna, Cyndi Lauper vibes… 💃🏼🪩
