Back to @mumush.world this weekend, one of the prettiest and most welcoming festivals I've ever been to.

Grateful to their lovely team for inviting me back this year to share my favourite records alongside many other friends and interesting guests.

I'll be on Saturday evening firing things up at Arboretum before a full night of great selectors, and then again the following morning at 8am, slowing things down at Ambrosia.

We've always had a direct and intimate connection to the dancefloor so it was only a matter of time before @mindfares curated a night (and day) of its own. On August 29th, we’re making the move alongside none other than @pressure.nights, joining forces for twelve hours in the WWW outdoor courtyard; half audition, half party and no indication which is which.

Taking a cue from the chillout and backrooms of the 90s, the day will begin spacious and unhurried, with the boundaries between ambient, electronics and techno deliberately left unclear. As daylight disappears from the courtyard, things will gradually tighten and rhythms will become harder to ignore.

Two live performances and a cast of DJs, including canadian guest @da.u.ra, will occupy a high-fidelity quadraphonic sound system across the day and night. Just as important will be everything surrounding it. We’re treating the courtyard as more than somewhere to put a soundsystem: light, objects, arrangement and mise-en-scène are all part of the proposition. A little world to disappear into for twelve hours.

No abrupt switch from listening session to party, no prescribed moment when one becomes the other. Just an afternoon allowed to slowly change its shape as it moves into the night.

"The idea behind this mix is twofold. First, the feeling I wanted to create is a kind of disco inside your head; a collection of tunes that can be imagined being played out in a smoke-filled back room on a large system, but just as easily if not easier, enjoyed on a couch at home accompanying an internal sight-seeing trip through a dimly lit future. Second, when I set out to achieve this I wanted to select records that I've been, for one reason or another, hesitant or even afraid to add to my bag when going out."

We continue our string of high-pressure sessions centered around powerful, driving sound and a tightly held dance-floor. Sharper instincts and a deeper understanding makes the music grow more complex, the space more focused and our room more responsive with each passing night.

For this gathering we chose to bring @shakolin , whose roots trace back to Kyiv’s @closer.ua , one of the most respected institutions in underground dance music, where years of digging and curation shaped a distinct approach to playing. Now based in Berlin, his sets move between old and new with precision, always groovy, unpredictable and guided by a deep knowledge of records and a sharp sense of the dance floor. As co-founder of the Delirious label and party series, his approach is led by instinct and a commitment to creating spaces built around shared musical values rather than trends.

Opening the evening on Friday we have Float Radio, a new musical project we’ve been quietly working on and are very excited to finally share.

Bringing together @anaamaier and @superuser____, the duo finds common ground by a shared approach to sound, one that leans on pacing, restraint, and attention to detail. A pull towards the aquatic sits at the core of this collaboration which finds its way into their music, not necessarily as a theme but as a way of moving.

Float Radio is, in a way, a space for that kind of transmission; sounds held lightly, drifting and finding their place without being fixed.

This will be the first time the project is presented live, starting at 19:00 sharp, opening for Margaux Gazur.

Hello! It has been a while since our last musical meet and we've missed it more than we can say 🫂

It is with great excitement that we announce our next get-together in a very special setting! 🕯️ The Unitarian Church in the city center to be exact, a beautiful Baroque-style sanctuary built in the 18th century. There’s something unique about hearing music fill a space like this; letting it echo, linger, and take on a life of its own.

It only feels right to pair such a venue with something equally special, so we’re inviting an artist we first heard a few years ago and instantly fell in love with. Margaux Gazur (@margauxgazur) is a French-Vietnamese sound explorer charting memory and environment with the help of music. Using acoustic instruments, everyday objects, and field recordings, she creates richly textured compositions that drift between electronic music, musique concrète, classical, experimental jazz, and more.

Opening the evening is a new project that we have been quietly working on: Float Radio, a collaborative duo featuring @anaamaier and @superuser____ , exploring the soft, contemplative contours of their respective musical sensibilities. This will mark the first time they present their work live.

We will be starting at 19:00 sharp, inside the Unitarian Church right next to Sora Shopping Center, and entry is free of charge. Early birds will be served warm tea ♨️ we're excited to see you all there!

We've been away for a while, but only because we were on a quest. As Mindfares grew, so did its need for a visual representation that could embody its message and spirit. We are happy to have found it and share it with you.

We would also like to announce that Mindfares is now evolving into a record label. The first release is due in a few months and will be revealed soon. We're beyond excited to put original, locally sourced music out into the world.

Today marks one year since the last (ever?) edition of @wahafestival, where I had the opportunity to play the lovely Aural stage. Even though the rain came just when the first record started playing, it turned out to be one of my favourite moments selecting music, surrounded by friends all huddled together listening to the sound of pouring rain and beautiful songs. Fortunately the whole thing was recorded so I'm glad to have a token from that wonderful time and to be able to share it with anyone who cares to listen. Linked up there. by @superuser____
