8th MASCHSEE SUP CUP HANNOVER 🇩🇪
What a day on the water!
On October 4, the 8th Maschsee SUP Cup brought the SUP community together on the iconic Maschsee lake in Hannover, Germany.
Organized by the Hannoverscher Kanu-Club v. 1921 (HKC), the event has become an important stop on the Nordic SUP League 2026, bringing competitive SUP to one of Germany’s most established paddling venues.
And now the results are officially part of the SUP WORLD RANKING.

DORDOGNE INTÉGRALE 2027 × SWR ACTIVE PARTNER
Some races are competitions.
Some are adventures.
And then there is Dordogne Intégrale.
In 2027, one of the most extraordinary endurance challenges on the water returns taking paddlers on an incredible ~350 km non-stop journey from Argentat, deep in the Dordogne Valley, all the way to the estuary. 🇫🇷
No shortcuts.
No stopping.
Just you, your board, your paddle and the river.
The Dordogne changes as you go becoming wider, wilder, saltier, more tidal, more ocean-like. 🌊
This is not simply a SUP race.
It is a journey through an entire river, through breathtaking landscapes, changing conditions, fatigue, friendship, solitude and that very special moment when you discover that your limits were somewhere much further away than you thought.
And perhaps that is what makes Dordogne Intégrale one of the most fascinating Ultra SUP challenges in the world.

🪞 VERY FLAT. VERY FAST. VERY ALPINE. 🏔️

The Very Flat Race 2026 brought the Alpine Lakes Tour season to a spectacular finish on the crystal-clear waters of Lake Aiguebelette, France 🇫🇷

With the lake living up to its name, the conditions were made for one thing: pure paddling speed. ⚡️
🏁 12 km Long Distance
🏁 5 km Short Distance
But the race was about more than speed. Surrounded by forests and mountains, with no motorboats allowed, Aiguebelette provided the perfect setting for the final stage of the 2026 Alpine Lakes Tour.
100 places. 5 nations. One final showdown. 🌍
And with the overall Alpine Lakes Tour titles decided at the finish, the season went out with a proper paddle! 🔥

EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP - BUT WHERE IS EUROPE?

Europe has 44 countries.

At this European Championship, athletes from only 4 countries were represented.

Men’s Long Distance: 7 athletes
Women’s Long Distance: 7 athletes

And for the SWR, the event cannot be evaluated for the World Ranking, because it does not meet the minimum participation requirements.

This is not a criticism of the athletes who came to race.
They came, they competed and they deserve respect.

But a European Championship should also raise a bigger question:

How representative is a European Championship when only 4 countries are represented and only 7 men and 7 women start the Long Distance race?

The title may be official.

But the numbers tell us something very different about the depth and representation of European SUP.

This is not about taking anything away from the winners.

It is about asking what kind of European SUP we want to build.

Another great SUP race in the USA! 🌊🔥

On October 4, the Rose City SUP Classic, organized by Gorge Performance, brought racers together in Portland, Oregon for a fast and challenging SUP race.

Strong paddling, a beautiful river course and another great event adding to the growing US SUP racing scene. 💪🏄‍♂️

🌊 SPRING SUP RACE / 10 YEARS OF GROWTH 🇮🇹

2027 marks the 10th edition of the Spring SUP Race in Comacchio, Italy a decade of racing, development and an ever-growing international SUP community.

And for SWR, this is also a very special story.

We have followed the Spring SUP Race year by year, measuring its development through the SUP World Ranking system:

⭐ 2022 — 6.46 points | 1 Star
⭐⭐⭐ 2023 — 12.64 points | 3 Stars
⭐⭐⭐⭐ 2024 — 15.42 points | 4 Stars
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 2025 — 18.55 points | 5 Stars
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 2026 — 17.02 points | 5 Stars

From 1 star to 5 stars in just four years.

This is not just a rating. It is a documented journey of growth built through stronger fields, international participation, race quality and continuous development.

And most importantly, SWR has been part of this journey together with the Spring SUP Race from the very beginning of this progression.

Year after year, we watched the event grow, evaluated its development and saw it climb from a 1-star event in 2022 to a 5-star SWR event in 2025 a level it maintained again in 2026.

Now comes the next milestone:
