David Fritch (@surffishdivedave ) was born and raised in Florida, where his lifelong obsession with the ocean began. He grew up surfing, fishing, and spending every free moment on the water. After becoming an airline pilot and flight instructor, a move to Hawaii introduced him to the world of freediving and polespear spearfishing—and he’s never looked back.

Now a certified Fii Level 1 Freediving Instructor, David brings a spearfisher’s mindset to his teaching, blending hunting instincts with freediving fundamentals. He’s traveled the globe—from Africa to Indonesia—in search of the best spearfishing spots, and his passion for primitive hunting has earned him two world records in the polespear category.
