Last week in Oceanside, California, we had the incredible honor of cheering on some of the amazing athletes Surfgimp Foundation has sponsored throughout the Adaptive Surfing World Tour this year. We’ve watched their journeys from afar, but standing on the beach and watching them paddle out, push through every challenge, chase waves, and give it everything they had was incredibly emotional! You could see the years of hard work, dedication, sacrifice, and determination behind every wave. Watching them do what they love, compete at such a high level, and experience that pure joy on the water was something we’ll carry with us long after the waves are gone. by @surfgimp__foundation

That is the quote I would use to describe this year & surfing in both Kneeling + Stand Divisions on the AASP Pro Adaptive Tour!!

Every single moment in the ocean & surfing is a gift beyond measure!!
Thank you to the amazing people who believe in this, created a platform & are changing lives.
Somehow the impossible is completely real & happening in real time!! Adaptive/ Para surfing is coming up fast to the world.
Nearly 90 athletes from 16 countries competed in the US Open Adaptive Surf Championships in Oceanside.

It takes a community to make waves. 🌊

From checking in athletes & setting up the event to helping support surfers & all the important work happening behind the scenes, our volunteers help make every part of the U.S. Open Adaptive Surfing Championships possible.

Some have even flown in from out of state just to be here & help! There are so many different volunteer roles & every single one matters. Thank you for giving your time energy & heart to our community! 🙌

Aloha Oahu, please be on the look out for my adaptive waveski. It was stolen from Kuhio beach yesterday during the Hawaii Adaptive Surfing Championships. This is my competition board that I have been surfing on for the last 5 years. It is a fully customized board made by @tlsurf. This waveski was designed specifically for my body and injury. This board is irreplaceable and cost over $4,000.00 to shape & ship here as well as taking nearly a year to make. This board was equipped with a blue Werner paddle, black Halo fins and red leash it was decorated with my sponsors logos, contest stickers and personal black sharpie marker signature messages. Thank you to my sponsors @indy.club @alohabrotherssurf @surfgimp__foundation @cafoundation @mokuhawaii @hi5sfoundation. Please be on the look out for this board and message me with any information. I have filed a police report. This board is an extension of my body just like my wheelchair it allows me to feel the freedom and mana in the ocean. I was unable to access the ocean to join on my friends from the channel yesterday because I did not have a surfboard to surf! by @surfgimp__foundation
