I wasn’t quite prepared for this little surprise yesterday. ❤️🏑

During one of our quarter breaks, my production team pulled out a few photos from my playing days at Louisville (thanks @l.korte ) - a little preview of what’s coming as we celebrate 50 years of @louisvillefh .

And before anyone asks: yes, photography had advanced to color by the time I played. 😂

All jokes aside, seeing those pictures on television definitely got me in my feelings.

This program has been such an important part of my life. I came to Louisville as a student-athlete, wearing that jersey and playing a game I loved, never imagining that all these years later I’d still have the privilege of being connected to this sport.

That’s what makes this 50th celebration so special. It’s bigger than any one team, coach, player or era. It’s generations of women who wore Louisville across their chest. It’s friendships that have lasted decades, coaches who helped shape us, and a program that has continued to grow while giving young women the opportunity to compete, belong and be part of something bigger than themselves.

I’m incredibly proud to be one small piece of those 50 years, and I cannot wait to be back together next weekend with so many Cardinals who helped build this program and carry it forward.

And to my production crew - thank you for the sweetest surprise (and for digging DEEP into the archives 😂❤️). You got me.

Forever grateful for this game. Forever grateful for this program. And forever proud to be a Card.

Here’s to 50 years of Louisville Field Hockey, and to every woman who has been part of its story. ❤️🖤🏑

Happy National Field Hockey Day! 🏑

This sport has given me so much. I never take for granted how lucky I am every time I get to be a small part of a game. Forever grateful for the sport that has brought so much love into my life. ♥️ by @suzanne_bush_

Well… if today was any indication, buckle up!

We took a look at some of the top teams to watch this season with @nufhcats chasing history, a loaded @wakehockey squad, @princetonfh is ready to roll and don’t sleep on @iowafieldhockey .

But don’t count out:
@dukefh
@uvafieldhockey
@uncfieldhockey
And while not in the graphic, @terpsfh deserves a shout out too. They looked dangerous this weekend!

Today’s games were madness! Upsets. Overtimes. Shootouts. Ranked teams going down. Absolute shenanigans across the country.

It’s early, but one thing already feels pretty clear: the road to the national championship is going to be WILD this year.

@leahsecondo and I are along for the ride and November in Louisville can’t get here fast enough. 🏆

Who ya got going?

Here we go. 🏑🎙️

There’s something pretty special about starting and ending the season in the same place.

My 13-week sprint starts today at Trager Stadium - and ends right back here in November when Louisville hosts the Natty.

A whole lot of field hockey between now and then. A whole lot of miles, games, stories, hugs, laughs and probably not enough sleep.

Wouldn’t have it any other way.

Year 10 loading…
13 weeks. Let’s ride.

Bittersweet news from the GRIT family.

We wanted to share that this week is Coach Suzanne’s last week coaching with us at GRIT, with Wednesday being her final day.

Over the past 3+ years, Suzanne has made a great impact on so many of our members and GRIT as a whole. Whether she was helping someone hit a new PR, celebrating milestones, or simply making early morning workouts a little more enjoyable, she’s been an important part of what makes GRIT special.

While we’re sad to see her go, we’re excited for her as she takes on this next opportunity. We’re incredibly grateful for the time she spent with us and the relationships she built here. Once you’re part of the GRIT family, you’ll always be part of the GRIT family.

If Coach Suzanne has made an impact on your fitness journey or simply made coming to the gym a little better, stop by the front table this week to leave her a note and let her know. It’s a small way for all of us to say thank you and send her off right.

Thank you, Suzanne, and best of luck! We’ll be cheering you on and you are always welcome at GRIT. by @suzanne_bush_
