I am thrilled to share that my photo of @thebroadmuseum - "Blue & White No. 1" has won Silver in the Abstract category of the @refocus.awards 2024 Color Photo Contest. The Broad isn't just one of my favorite museums, it's also one of my favorite buildings and I'm immensely proud of the photo.

My aerial photo, "Viewing Venice," also received an Honorable Mention in the Aerial category!

The final leg of my Greece Adventure took me to Chania, Crete. I was lucky to get a room at the stunning @domusrenier right on the Venetian harbor in the heart of the Old Town of Chania. The perfect place to stay to explore the twisting streets on foot.

The historic building blended modern and traditional elements beautifully and the hospitality was exceptional.

Breakfast in the hotel was perfection each morning - feeling energized and happy for whatever the day had to offer.

Food and drinks in Hilo, Hawaii.

Loved everything about @the_hidden_nene - immaculate vibes and super creative drinks. Plus the staff were so welcoming. I can't wait to go back.

@tetsumenhawaii has the most rich tonkotsu broth. Perfectly satisfying after a day chasing waterfalls. Also the yuzu basque cheesecake is to die for.

@thetemplehilo had delicious bites and a lively atmosphere.

@hawaiian_style_cafe also gave me my first ever loco moco for a delicious and hearty breakfast on a rainy day.

And shout-out to @7elevenhi for putting the mainland to shame.

The @lucasmuseum is so cool. There was so much more to see than I expected and will need to go back with more time to fully take it in.

Everything @lacma did wrong with their new Geffen Galleries, the Lucas Museum did right here. No windows in stupid places, no glare, great lighting, much better flow through everything. The art feels accessible but protected.

I think that it complements the @academymuseum incredibly well if you wanted to have a full museum day.

I visited Volcanoes National Park on July 5, 2026 and stitched together this panorama from photos taken overlooking the Kīlauea summit caldera.

Kīlauea is the most active of the five volcanoes that form the island of Hawaii, and is one of the most active volcanoes on the planet. Kīlauea is a Hawaiian word that means "spewing" or "much spreading", referring to its frequent outpouring of lava. It's over 200,000 years old and first rose above the ocean's surface around 100,000 years ago.

The Halemaʻumaʻu eruption has been ongoing since December 2024 with the 42nd episode ending on February 15, 2026.

While the eruption was paused during my visit in July, the immensity of the caldera at Volcanoes National Park was incredible and I'm keeping an eye on the USGS updates in case an opportunity comes up to see the lava fountains in person. While it is generally safe to do so, volcanic gases, (especially sulfur dioxide), and tephra including Pele’s hair that are mostly comprised of volcanic glass are blowing around the area and touching the fine Pele's hair can form tiny glass splinters in your skin.
