Tour of Trees sees Swarathma sing for trees at risk. Here we stand with city's residents raising voices against the proposed Elevated Corridor project that will alter neighborhoods entirely and drastically bring down green cover too facilitate private transport, in the name of reducing traffic congestion.

Our trees need us to focus on public transport led mobility. Not flyovers for more cars.

When we sing for trees in a public space, we claim it with culture.

And in doing so, we notice things. Like how trees become choked with optic fibre cables dangling from them with no regard or respect.

We had our long time friend @suchiswriting join us to tell stories about trees, their lives and lore.

A tree can be a temple.

But also a trash bin.

Trees recycle CO2, not plastic

We played Patte Saare, Aasman ki Dukaan, Ee Bhoomi, Belongaluru and Topiwalleh!

Sanjeev literally sparkled in the sunlight

Friends showed up.

Smiles abounded.

And plans were made.

Observing @dynasly in his natural habitat can be a cathartic, elevating and life affirming experience. ClimateJam at @shivnadarschooloflaw blew off the roof. The energy and love took us by surprise. Thank you, you crazy beautiful lawyers of tomorrow. You can take our case, anytime!

It was an absolute delight to see how the you owned the concept of ClimateJam and created such lovely exhibits, art from upcycled materials, videogames based on environmental cases, quizzes on carbon and more.

[TICKETS IN BIO] Ever wondered where a song really begins? Is it a hummed melody, a guitar riff, a feeling or just a random idea that refuses to leave your head?

Vasu Dixit and Jishnu Dasgupta, members of acclaimed folk-rock band Swarathma take you on a journey that traces the origins of their songs. In doing so, they will seek to answer the question, "Where do songs really come from?"

While every songwriter or composer has their own process, Swarathma has their own ways of making the songs that since become part of their three studio albums and numerous singles released over the years since 2009. While some songs begin as a hummed melody while on a bike ride, others begin with a guitar riff played at random. How does a kernel of an idea develop into a melody, a groove, a theme, a verse, a chorus and finally, something that connects with music lovers?

Not only will Vasu and Jishnu take you through the band's and their individual approaches to songwriting, they will even attempt a live mini songwriting workshop with the audience, much like a band jamming together.

Who knows what the audience might inspire and create, even as they learn about Swarathma's songwriting journey?

Bringing ClimateJam to @shivnadarschooloflaw this week. Excited to meet the legal eagles of tomorrow but with heart beating for the Earth. Can we reimagine justice for all things bright and beautiful?

Conversations for this ClimateJam began months ago with Prof @riyachipre on how we could bring together climate awareness, action she resilience together with music. Then a few weeks ago we met folks from @agami_in . That upended a lot of assumptions we had about justice as a concept. With their ideas we put together this edition, on thinking about what justice means for the non human - the animals, the forests, the mountains, the rivers..

We're thrilled to welcome Justice Prabha Sridevan (Retd), a leading light and one of the most respected judges of the Madras High Court, known for her progressive judgements and work after her tenure.

This is going to be something else.

We're playing for Bangalore's trees, 10.30am, Sunday, 4 October.

This is in support of our friends at at @icindngr , an RWA Collective that is working for the city in ways that inspire.

The authorities at B-SMILE have come up with an ill-advised elevated corridor project, with 13 flyovers that will slice through Bangalore’s most loved neighbourhoods, axing trees, altering the landscape and affecting livelihoods. We need the trees and their shade more than we need pillars and bridges.

With our friends at @climateweekindia we’re performing our Tour of Trees street-side jam for the trees of Indiranagar. Along wtih a bunch of other lovers of the planet from around the world, we’re raising our voices for a more climate positive future.

Registration is free, and all you need to bring for the Tour of Trees are comfortable shoes (or indeed, no shoes, if you so wish), an an open heart and voice. We will have naturalists @vijayatvruksha and @suchiswriting with us to tell us poems and stories and give us wisdom.
