The launch of SWAS took place in South Asian Heritage Month.

Launched by social workers from the South Asian diaspora, SWAS is a group for practitioners to come together to share, reflect and innovate with other like minded professionals, openly and safely.

The evening involved poetry, crafts, reflection, personal stories and food! As well as the inspiration behind the group and where it wants to go.

Read about SWAS on communitycare.co.uk for the lowdown. #SWASlaunch2025 #southasianheritagemonth #socialworkersuk taken in Senate House, Univerity of London by @swas_uk

Don’t miss this event - SWAS is growing into a very important network to exchange knowledge about some of the barriers and enablers in safeguarding south Asian communities in all their diversity
And, what kind of knowledge skills and support our workforce need to service those communities. Link in comments by @swas_uk

SWAS - means breath in many South Asian languages. Green is also the colour associated with Anahata (heart chakra) connected with love, compassion and balance. These are our values. by @swas_uk
