BAKE-A-LONG ANNOUNCEMENT! Next Sunday July 5th @ 10am PT/1pm ET/6pm BT, make PORK FLOSS ROLLS live with myself and @soynsesame , followed by an open dialogue on BLM, racism, privilege, and being Asian-"American".
.
Our goal is not only for you to walk away with a mouthwatering batch of pork floss rolls, but to hold an open-ended discussion where we examine and explore our own questions, reflections, and learnings surrounding recent political events in America.
.
🏳️‍🌈 During this IG Live, we will be raising money for @theokraproject . The Okra Project is a collective that seeks to address the global crisis faced by Black Trans people by bringing home cooked, healthy, and culturally specific meals and resources to Black Trans People wherever we can reach them.
.
🥣 ⏰WHEN: Sun. July 5th @ 10am PT/1pm ET/6pm BT
📍WHERE: IG Live @soynsesame
✌️HOW: Prepare the following ingredients, and tune in live day of!
.
👉INGREDIENTS:
50g (1/4c) Vegetable Oil (or any flavourless oil)
60g (1/4c) Milk
60g (1/2c) Cake Flour* (Substitution Available)
5 (85g) Egg Yolks
5 (170g) Egg Whites
60g (1/2c) White Sugar
Scallions
Pork Floss
White or Black Sesame Seeds
Mayonnaise *if cake flour is unavailable, simply substitute. For every 1/2c AP Flour, remove 1 tbsp AP flour and add back in 1 tbsp cornstarch. This decreases the amount of protein, resulting in less gluten development & a softer texture.
.
👉EQUIPMENT:
Whisk
Spatula
Electric Mixer
2 Large Mixing Bowls
Large Baking Tray
Parchment Paper
.
We cannot WAIT for you to bite into your delicious, homemade morsel of pork floss roll, and join us in our open dialogue 💛
