Welcome to new folks following and heeyyyaaaa to all those who have been with me this whole time.
Thank you for all the new follows and it made me think I should introduce myself again.
I'm Selene, Sweet bean Selene. Im recently 32 years old!!!!! I am queer and gender fluid Ive been a workin& full time musician for over ten years. Ive been a busker since I was 13 yrs old to now. I grew up in Las Vegas nv. I had an extremely odd and nightmarish childhood ans teen hood. With alot of beautiful and life informing experiences. I was lucky to have my dads side of the family who encouraged and love every bit of my silliness and my need to play music and preform. I ran away to oregon when I was 17 to be with my dad. Finished high school and started traveling full time not to far after. 🚂🚂🚂🚂
During that time I was full time busking in every town I stopped in. Reaching many offers for shows and need for private entertainment for parties. I was in a band with many friends and a person I dont want to talk about. It was incredibly informative. We played music for 6 and half years. After ending and getting away from that situation I started my solo project.
Sweet bean Selene, I have two solo albums of mainly my own orginals music. And I play shows and private events to this day. I absolutely love stopping time while people dance and enjoy their time as the music plays. I have so much to say about the music I play and what it means to me and my heros I cover. Maybe ill do a nother post for that too. Music and this music and making my music and playing for yll is the most important thing to me.
I am also a full time leathersmith. I have a little shop @weepingwillowleather. You can order anything that your heart desires.
I also love going exploring and camping everywhere with my boyfriend and my dog. I love finding trash. I love learning and listening. I love learning about new plants. I love herbs and teas. I love listening to people's ghost stories. I love the actual meanings of symbols on old houses. I love reading horror and revolutionary non fiction. I love handmade lace. I love the snow so much.
I have a zillion things I want to say or could say. by @sweetbeanmusic

“Sweet bean Selene is a haunted artist who brings you along a long and emotional ride with her blending of jazz, jug, country blues, and her orginals. You’ll love laughing, crying, and singing along.”

Performing a mix of hot tunes from the 20s/30s plus, “hauntingly, sadly sweet originals.”

🎤 @strayhound.mp3 (unauthentic americana duo)

A dynamic folk duo blending American, Balkan, and Klezmer traditions with original songs, featuring the rich sounds of fiddle and banjo.

Blending the American busker and vagabond traditions with the DIY ethic of their punk roots, the duo shares an unforgettable set of songs and stories that foster resounding and unforgettable connections at every show. From their own original music, to American Labor and Jazz tunes, to stunning Balkan arrangements and U.S.A & British Isles traditionals, STRAYHOUND promises an experience that delivers their audience to a time when music meant something as real and tangible as their own cherished worlds.

Another legendary icon gone.

Anyone who knows it is sad to have heard that Union Pacific tore down the old Black Butte water tower.

@sweetbeanmusic let me and my little motley crew of Elijah and Noraa to film her song, Waiting, there by the tower. I was happy to get to know that tower just a little and very sad to see it go. Thank you @cordellapress for creating this opportunity also.

@blackbuttecenterforrrculture salvaged what they could, saving monikers if possible, even following them to the dump to dig through rubble.

Thank you to all those travelers who scribbled on it- I’m grateful to be a fly on the wall with a lens to ponder your travels, hands, and art.

If you want to see more about this world, the full episode featuring Sweet Bean Selene called We Exist is available for free at ShastaStories.com
