We only let ourselves use three colours on this one: black, red and silver 🖤

Every December brief arrives the same way — festive, but please not the plastic kind. Cutting the palette back is the quickest way there. Black does all the reading, red turns up only where hands go (the ribbon, the bow, the liner), and silver gets the tree shapes, because that's what catches the candles once everyone sits down. Green is the obvious fourth colour and we left it out on purpose; it tips a table straight into supermarket territory.

Classics stay classic because nobody has to think about them — they just feel like Christmas.

Christmas never arrives quietly, and that noise is what we built this set around 🥂

Think about what the word actually brings up: a disco ball throwing light across the ceiling, everyone talking over each other, a camera clicking somewhere near the tree, presents piling up underneath it, glasses going up for one more toast to a good season. That's the part everybody loves, so we pinned all of it next to the paper before we drew a single line. The camera became a photo-booth strip under the vellum, the disco ball became a mosaic tree, the wrapping ribbon became the red bow that holds the whole suite shut.

And the invitation is where all of it begins — long before the first drink, it's the thing that tells people what kind of night is coming.

How do you make cherries feel black-tie?

The idea began with a cherry still-life painting—romantic, abundant and dark enough to feel at home in candlelight.

To translate that mood into a formal wedding suite, we used restraint. The cherry motif appears with intention rather than everywhere at once. Black and burgundy create depth; ivory introduces breathing room; antique gold adds warmth; and muted botanical green keeps the palette grounded.

The red velvet folio then turns the visual story into something tactile and sculptural. That balance keeps the suite dramatic without becoming gothic, and opulent without becoming ornate.

We carried the cherry motif beyond the artwork and into the structure itself: a sculptural red velvet folio, laser-cut in botanical detail, opening to refined ivory cards with warm gold foil, a hand-drawn Hotel Wailea illustration, and wax-sealed envelopes.

The palette stays restrained—cherry red, burgundy, ivory, black, and antique gold—so every layer feels connected without repeating the same note.
