In sound, as in images, truth is often obscured by excess.
In the late '70s, Tony Andrews rebelled against the excess of sound systems that distorted truth. He wanted something truer: sound systems that could reproduce music with surgical clarity and deliver physical impact. The amplifiers were the hidden heroes of this vision. Funktion-One amps are engineered not just for brute force, but for control; the ability to drive large horn-loaded speakers with speed, headroom, and precision.
drums hitting in the chest yet still hearing the shimmer of the hi-hats and the edge of the vocal; became the signature.
Next time you notice those purple-badged amps behind the stacks, remember it is not an accessory pushing watts. but the conscience of the system - reminding us that power without fidelity is only distortion.
