🏆 12 candidates. 12 passes. 100% success. What a fantastic result for our latest RLSS UK National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches (NRASTC) course at Swim Design Space. We’re incredibly proud of every candidate. Two days of practical training, rescue skills, teamwork and assessment, and every single candidate achieved their qualification. A huge thank you to Tom Howells, RLSS Trainer Assessor, for delivering such high-quality training, and to Ian Hamilton and Jonny Burrow, RLSS Trainer Assessors, for conducting the final assessments. 💬 “It has done him a world of good; his confidence is now soaring, and we’re hopeful this will kick-start his future.” 💬 “He enjoyed it so much. He is very interested in first aid and really enjoyed the challenge.” This is what the NPLQ can do: build confidence, develop lifesaving skills and open the door to future employment. 🏆 12 new pool lifeguards and 6 successful renewals! A huge congratulations from us to all 12 candidates who qualified on Friday 28 August 2026, after completing their RLSS UK National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) with Swim Design Space. Congratulations also to the 6 existing lifeguards who successfully renewed their qualifications on the same day. Over five demanding days, our candidates developed practical rescue skills, first-aid knowledge, teamwork and the confidence to respond effectively in an emergency. Every one of them should be incredibly proud. National Drowning Prevention Week is now underway (13th–20th June). As an RLSS UK Approved Training Provider, water safety is a huge part of what we do. Throughout the week, all swimmers will be taking part in activities designed to help them stay safe in and around water. Yesterday we kicked things off by teaching over 120 school children water safety skills, including floating, survival swimming, understanding the Water Safety Code and how to help someone safely in an emergency. For all lessons this week, please can swimmers come wearing a t-shirt and shorts (or leggings) over their swimwear. We also ask that swimmers do not wear goggles. 🛟 Please bring: ✔️ T-shirt ✔️ Shorts or leggings ❌ No goggles ❌ No heavy clothing or onesies Learning to swim is important. Learning how to survive in water could save your life. 12 LIFEGUARDS QUALIFIED IN ONE WEEK 🛟🔥 And this is only the beginning… In our first few weeks delivering the full NPLQ, NPLQ Renewals, and NRASTC courses, we’ve achieved something we’re incredibly proud of: ✔️ 6 lifeguards successfully completed their NPLQ Renewal and are now qualified and ready to work ✔️ 6 candidates passed our first full NPLQ course with a 100% pass rate 👑 👉 That’s 12 qualified lifeguards in just one week, now ready to work, earn, and keep people safe in and around the water. ✔️ 3 candidates also passed our first NRASTC course with a 100% pass rate 👑 👉 Supporting the next wave of teachers and coaches to deliver safe aquatic sessions. The NPLQ is not an easy qualification. It demands fitness, focus, resilience, and the ability to respond under pressure in real-life emergency situations. Every candidate worked hard for this, and we are incredibly proud of what they achieved. A huge thank you to Tom Howells, our Lead RLSS Trainer, for delivering.
