Swimmers of Colour featured on @bbcwest thanks to @bbcradioglos

Swimming is a life skill and it has been a pleasure working with these women on this project. There was a lot of encouragements, fun and bonding. It was great seeing everyone receive their certificates last week.

Thanks to their dedication and commitments, as they have led the way not only to learn to swim but also inspire others confirming to many more people that it’s never too late to learn a new skill.

Well done! to @evenlodefilms for helping us to share this story, @activegloucestershire and @soulcapofficial for their support and @swimdesifnspace for working with the women in the way that empowered them.

#blackhistorymonth2023
@ile.darasimi had a fun and productive evening planned for us using #africanprint. The prints were amazing the evening is just what I needed this week. The best thing of all is that I came home with a lampshade for a #chrismaspresent @swimdesignspace @litoleela

We want to see more of this @ile.darasimi and looking forward to the next one.

This #blackhistorymonth we are celebrating the achievement of our community in Gloucestershire.

The Fabric of Colour project has been an amazing one and @superdry support has enabled us to showcase our creativity and culture through textiles.

Thanks to @danielle.youta for guiding the women to design and creating a collection that tells the story of African heritage beyond Africa.

Working with the community to bring this runway show in the last year, was such a joy and thanks to our team @swimdesignspace @ile.darasimi @emybeauty_x @massaweadventures @projectpioneersofficial who supported us in the background.

We would also like to thank the team @superdry past and present @hanni_khne @kelsang @ollieuglow who have been there for us all the way.

It’s not what you know, it’s who you know.

Networking, becoming known, meeting people, putting yourself out there is soooo important.

And yes you have to be able to do what you say you can do - show you are the expert

But the more widely known you are the better.

Today I was working with my client Jan from @swimdesignspace getting one of her website pages more optimised and targeted.

If I knew someone wanted to learn to swim as an adult or had kids and were looking for a swim school then I would be directing them to Jan.

Take my member @jessmaysspecialdays. If someone was looking for a celebrant I would be directing them to Jess.

You see being more widely known means those people become an ADVOCATE for you because they have more experience of who you are and what you know.

IT’S NOT WHAT YOU KNOW, IT’S WHO YOU KNOW (you know 🤣)
