The Daring Exploits of the One and Only SUPERMAN

I’m closing out Superman Day 2023 with this tribute to Joe Shuster’s cover art for Superman Number 1, June 1939. What made that art unique was that Superman was SMILING during a time when pulp heroes were trying to outdo each other in grittiness, much like modern superheroes. But our Strange Visitor from Another Planet is special because he uses his powers to spread comfort, happiness, and neighborly help. He always has, and he always will.

Never tap out. Jesus didn't tap. Think it, then ink it. Do what scares you. Live Fearlessly. Jason David Frank had so many mantras and lessons. Which one was your favorite?

Listening to JDF talk was like going to church and hearing the best sermon from the best pastor ever. We all came away feeling energized and ready to face our fears, pursue our dreams, work on ourselves, work on our relationships with God and our loved ones, and perhaps most of all, to follow his example of generosity and humility. "I have the best fans. How did I get so lucky?" He always used to say. But we were the lucky ones.

Now it's time to work together to pass on all his lessons to the next generation, so that his legacy will live forever. Let's all work hard to spread his knowledge and wisdom.
Forever Team JDF.

Thirty years ago today - November 18, 1992 - the world's most beloved hero died. Superman number 75 hit newsstands, and with it, the shocking conclusion to The Death of Superman storyline. To this day, The Death of Superman is one of the most revered comic stories and the best selling graphic novel of all time. To celebrate its 30th anniversary, I will be doing a series of toy photos homaging the art of the series. Here is the first part, a tribute to the cover art of Superman: The Man of Steel number 18, which began the story. DOOMSDAY IS HERE!

(Btw, first post with my new Nikkor micro lense that I got for my birthday!)

Unfortunately I won't be attending New York Comic Con this year due to concerns about monkey pox. When you're immunocompromised like me, it can be hard living in this new pandemic-a-week world. Here's a flashback to the last time I was there in 2019 with @gordonburi and @california_nightwing . We're the Super Clark Kent Bros.!🤓 I hope I'll be back next year and together again with all my friends from @dc_cosplayers_east .
P.S. This suit no longer fits me.😁💪
