I wish I could find the pictures of us together. Dee was there at some of the most exciting moments. I was so grateful she was on my side but that didn’t mean she didn’t tell me exactly what she thought.my favourite memory was in Walker offices, after the Carnegie Awards when she handed me the phone with Helen Oxenbury on the other end. Wherever I was, if she was there, I would know I was in the right place. When she talked to me it sounded like “between you and me...” which always made me feel like part of her selection. Which will always be a great honour. by @sydneydraws

Thanks so much to @ilb_festival for inviting me to take part in this year’s incredible program. The kids were so great and they brought the energy of a Storm. @brian_floca and @nealporterbooks , I was proud to rep our book to a crowd of 580 kids and paint while we all listened to the sounds of the ocean and rain.
