🌹 BK2: Thorn of a Curse — 7/16/26 ✨

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

It’s RELEASE DAY!!!!!

Thorn of a Curse is out in the wild and I’m so so very excited!

If you’re local to me, I’ll be having a release day party at @citrus_sage_bookshop from 5:30-7pm. You can pick up a copy of Thorn of a Curse (or Heart of a Forest if you’d don’t have one yet!) and play a fun scavenger hunt to enter a giveaway!

The love and support I have with this book release astounds me. Having so many lovely readers to share this day with makes me so happy and proud 🥹🥰

Thorn of a Curse was such an adventure to write and edit, exploring not only more of this world and the layers of different magic systems, but these characters hearts as well. I found more pieces of me within these two nerds that I hope you do as well 🌹

BK 1: Heart of a Forest 🗡️🍃
BK 2: Thorn of a Curse 🌹✨

This is a series with a new couple & fairytale taking center stage with each book but it’s a continuous plot and must be read in order. Both are on KU!

Here’s a current list of all my upcoming signing events for 2026.

There might be more after September, and of course a release day signing for Thorn of a Curse this summer, but this is all I have confirmed for now.

All events have a pre-order form available, so if you’re planning to attend, place your order for some discounts!

Will you be at any of these??

In preparation for Heart of a Forest releasing this fall, I’m introducing the characters! This week is our strong FMC, Raven.

Ravenna Heldt is our princess with a sword, our cloaked vigilante. She provides food and coin to her villagers by day, and punishes criminals who evade her mother’s court by night. With her enchanted hood erasing her face from the memory of anyone who sees her, she is the Red Hood—murderer wanted by the Queen.

She likes to avoid the internal question of whether or not she is criminal. It’s a bit of a grey answer. She struggles with guilt and grief and her own skewed moral compass. She knows only one thing:

—This was not justice. She would be justice.

Heart of a Forest is my fairytale retelling about Snow White—if she was secretly a vigilante with an enchanted cloak.

This is my debut novel, out this fall.

Check bi0 for website and newsletter!

Follow for more character reveals and insights!

Who is your favorite FMC? I only got a few books into TOG (I will finish!!) but I do have to say, I love Celaena. Feyre is a top for me, as well.

𝓫𝓸𝓸𝓴𝓶𝓪𝓲𝓵 - chaotic completely unscripted unrehearsed PR package opening (while sick with the preschool cold plague) featuring the new mani (again).

I can’t wait to start Thorn of a Curse, Book 2 in the Pure Heart series by @sylvialockardauthor ! If you love a Beauty & the Beast Retelling with a morally grey MMC and secret pasts, this is for you! I read the first book (Heart of a Forest) last year and loved it (a Robin Hood retelling & I’m a sucker for a good retelling). It is NOT an interconnected standalone book like I said in the video, but that’s okay because that means you get to enjoy TWO retellings! Please forgive me and blame my brain glitch on this cold.

Tropes:
🥀 Beauty & the Beast retelling
💀 He’s cursed
🖤 Morally grey MMC
📚 Nerdy FMC
🔐 Secret pasts
👑 Dominant FMC
💔 Touch-starved MMC

QOTD: Beauty & the Beast retelling—are you reading immediately or adding it to the TBR? (For me it’s an immediate yes because I WANTED TO BE BELLE - and let’s be honest I STILL DO!)

Thank you so much @nookandfablemedia & @sylvialockardauthor for this gifted SIGNED copy and adorable chibi sticker!

These are the three biggest questions I get from readers, whether in my DMs or in-person at events.

There’s a reason I say my A Pure Heart series is perfect for fans of the show ONCE, it follows multiple characters, couples, and magics. Thorn of a Curse even has a few more fairytales that begin to mesh 👀

For more FAQ, all editions of Thorn of a Curse (ebook and print) have these questions and more answered in the bonus content at the end.

What’s something you want to know before diving into a new romantasy series? I’ll answer in the comments 💕

IT’S SEXY PIRATE MAN TIME 🏴‍☠️🌊

This scene?? Kieran, the man with mix-matched eyes, threatening to make the baker’s black eye match??? Omfg.

It might’ve snuck up on me when I was writing Heart of a Forest—much like Cindy and Kieran themselves. 🫣

And this ART? @chelzd_art is (as always) amazing at capturing my characters. The intensity in his stare *swoon* 🥵

One of the biggest questions I got when first drafting Thorn of a Curse was “will we see more of Kieran” (and Cindy). And guys…the gang is going to the ocean kingdom, yes, we definitely see our sexy pirate man (hehe)

Meet this sexy pirate man in Heart of a Forest (book 1) and find even more ways to love him in Thorn of a Curse (book 2). Both are on KU and available everywhere books are sold and have a continuous plot—they must be read in order.

QOTD: would you rather have a pirate 🏴‍☠️, a charming thief 🗡️, or a cursed man who loves to read 🥀? I’ll tell you which MMC matches you 😘
