"I wish people understood that I didn't stay because I was weak. I stayed because I was afraid. Leaving was not as simple as packing a bag and walking out the door. It took everything I had to choose myself and believe that my life was worth saving."

💜 Domestic violence is not always visible, but the fear is very real. Survivors may stay for countless reasons, including threats, financial dependence, isolation, concern for their children, or fear that leaving could put their lives in even greater danger.

🐾💜 Walk with Us for Purple Paws for a Cause! 💜🐾 Join us on October 10th as we walk through downtown Allegan for a fun Pet Parade! 🐶🐾 Wishbone Pet Rescue staff and volunteers will also be attending in support of this special event. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, making this a meaningful opportunity to come together, raise awareness, and show our support for survivors of domestic violence. 💜 Registration begins at 10:00 AM, so grab your pup, wear your purple, and walk with us!
