Happy Fo’twenny everyone! 😶‍🌫️😶‍🌫️😶‍🌫️

I knowwwww this joint wasn’t supposed to be up until Monday - but - issa holiday! 🌲🌲🌲

This song has become one of my favorites to perform live - doing some a call & response w the audience - I’d start off the song w a practice - saying, “The summer’s hot!” Then the audience would come right behind me say, “We need Lemonade!” 🙌🙌🙌

This song is about learning to transform and redefine your narrative. 🔄 Our species has survived through the ages due to our ability to adapt to our ever-changing environment. When Elbert Hubbard wrote, “A genius is a man who takes the lemons 🍋 that Fate hands him and starts a lemonade-stand with them,” he suggests that we might not only survive - but thrive in the repurposing of our adversaries. 💰💰💰

In this 6th single from @symplemcee and @deejayscientist, #Lemonade is a celebration of the struggles and downfalls of being an independent artist in a vast ocean of artists. Sometimes simply retelling the story is transformative. sympL is as autobiographical as he’s been throughout the album - describing the highs and lows of his life as a touring MC and host for underground hip hop showcases around the country for over a decade. Scientist assists with precision cuts.

Furthermore - as the duo decided this to be one of the shining songs on the album, @nowfreedommusic is assisting us in pressing this - as well as #GimmeADollar onto 7” vinyl! We have been taking preorders for the last month for the first pressing (DM one of us before Monday if you want one and to be in the credits)!

Since December, @deejayscientist & I have been giving you guys that 2 turntables and a mic type hip hop. Last month, w #GimmeADollar, we launched a pre-order for a limited edition run of 7” vinyl on @nowfreedommusic (DM for the details).

This month we’re gonna slow it down a little & get more introspective. This song is about finding your own self worth. To be honest, I was pretty depressed when Scientist sent me this beat - but the tune lifted and inspired me. I hope it lifts you guys too. We are the world we create.

Also, many thanks to everyone that’s sent us 💵! Last month we set up preorders for the vinyl & we’re wrapping up the cover art and about to send everything to press! Remember - just $1 gets your name in the album credits. These songs aren’t on any streaming platforms - but I’m proud to say, they’ve already been heard thousands of times thanks to all you guys - plus @kangolnyc @rapnobacktrack @rapseminar @sclofi & @djfunksway
