✈️ Last week, @kuehnenagel.global brought customers, innovators, and industry experts together in Jülich to discuss the future of sustainable aviation and air logistics.

Our Co-CEO and Co-Founder Philipp Furler gave a keynote on Synhelion and our scale-up plans. Participants also visited DAWN, our industrial demonstration plant, where our team introduced them to our renewable synthetic fuel technology and production.

Scaling sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) requires more than proven technology. It also needs customers who commit early. @flyswiss has signed a binding five-year offtake agreement for Synhelion’s synthetic jet fuel, part of which will be supplied through SWISS to Kuehne+Nagel for air freight transportation with SWISS WorldCargo.

Decarbonizing air logistics requires concrete action. At Synhelion, we’re already producing the fuel to help make it happen.

🤝 Thank you, Kuehne+Nagel, for organizing the event and for visiting DAWN. by @synhelion

A closer look at our fueling station at Bernina Gran Turismo 2026 ⛽

From September 11–13, our Synhelion fueling station was up and running at Bernina Ospizio – more than 2’300 meters above sea level – surrounded by the spectacular landscape of the Swiss Alps.

As drivers stopped by to fuel their cars with our renewable synthetic gasoline throughout the weekend, we got to hear their stories. And one thing became clear in our conversations: there is a deep passion for keeping automotive heritage alive while making it more sustainable.

That’s where our renewable synthetic fuel can make the difference: reducing CO₂ emissions without changing the engines, their performance, or the driving experience.

This year marked the beginning of our collaboration with @officialberninagranturismo. We’re looking forward to what comes next! by @synhelion

At this year’s @officialberninagranturismo, Synhelion brought renewable synthetic gasoline directly to the racetrack. 🏁

As the event’s official fuel supplier, we set up a fueling station on the Bernina Pass and provided our synthetic gasoline free of charge to drivers competing throughout the weekend.

Drivers fueled up with our gasoline and put it to use under real racing conditions. And the feedback from the drivers was great!

Our gasoline is a drop-in fuel: compliant with fuel standards and ready for use in conventional engines without any modifications.

Nearly 100 years of motorsport tradition on the Bernina Pass, now fueled by the partnership between Bernina Gran Turismo and Synhelion. by @synhelion

We are adding another major project to our scale-up roadmap: Synhelion has laid the foundation for a 100’000-ton large-scale commercial renewable synthetic fuel plant in Morocco.

Three steps have brought the project forward:
🔹 We have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Morocco
🔹 We have secured a land reservation in the country’s southern Tan-Tan province, in the region of Guelmim-Oued Noun
🔹 We have established a branch, Synhelion Morocco, which has gained Casablanca Finance City status

Morocco offers promising conditions for renewable synthetic fuel production, due to its renewable energy resources and favorable conditions for establishing a synthetic fuel value chain.

With a planned production capacity of 100’000 tons per year, the project marks an important step in our technology scale-up and cost-reduction path.

We look forward to deepening our collaboration with the Government of Morocco and local stakeholders.

Technology, courage, and progress have defined Bernina Gran Turismo since the very beginning.

This year, we’re taking another step forward.
For 2026, we’re proud to welcome @synhelion as our official fuel supplier, bringing renewable synthetic gasoline to the Bernina Pass.
During the race, drivers will have the opportunity to refuel for free at the Bernina Ospizio and experience the synthetic gasoline first-hand.

Synhelion’s drop-in fuels can be used in existing vehicles without modifications and can reduce net CO₂ emissions by up to 100% compared with fossil fuels, while maintaining the performance and driving experience that make this event so special.

Preserving automotive heritage doesn’t mean standing still. It means finding new ways to carry it forward. taken in Bernina Pass by @synhelion

We’re developing a 30’000-ton synthetic fuel plant in Germany.

In collaboration with @saipem_official, a leading engineering and construction company, we have started the pre-FEED (pre-Front-End Engineering Design) work for a commercial-scale facility at RWE’s Hürth-Knapsack site. The plant will produce SAF, synthetic diesel, and gasoline.

This project is another concrete example of Synhelion’s growing pipeline of commercial-scale plants. It follows our recent announcement of our first commercial plant, which will be built as an expansion of our Jülich site, where plant DAWN has already been producing synthetic fuels for our customers since 2024.

Together with established industrial partners, we’re scaling our technology to help meet the growing demand for renewable fuels, strengthen energy security, and pave the way for a net-zero transportation sector. by @synhelion

Last year, @flyswiss integrated our synthetic jet fuel into their flight operations for the first time.

It represented a landmark for the aviation sector, confirming not only that Synhelion’s technology works and is ready to scale, but also that synthetic jet fuel can be fed seamlessly into existing fuel infrastructure.

This is how it worked:

1.	We delivered synthetic crude oil produced at DAWN to a refinery in Northern Germany.
2.	There, the synthetic crude oil was processed into certified Jet-A-1 aviation fuel.
3.	The fuel was then fed into SWISS’ flight operations infrastructure via the fuel supply system at Hamburg Airport.

We’re immensely proud to count SWISS and @lufthansa as a long-standing partner in the transition to more sustainable aviation. As Jens Fehlinger, CEO of SWISS, highlights, this is a pioneering journey that we’re advancing together as partners. ✈️ by @synhelion
