@what.is.the.good.life_ This café in Busan, South Korea was such a sweet place to stumble upon. ☕️

✨The first time I saw it, I found shelter under the umbrella outside in the pouring rain, and the barista and I exchanged a wave. The next morning, I climbed the hill back to the same spot and discovered that same place was a charming cafe, with a delicious vanilla iced late.

✨The café sits right on the corner of a hill — a true light on a hill. The cafe owner was radiating with kindness to everyone who stepped inside that day.

제가 가본 도서관 중에 정말 아름다웠어요 ✨

One of the most beautiful libraries (& mall) I’ve ever visited ✨ It was so peaceful to just sit and draw while people around me read, listened to music, or simply took it all in. Some were visiting for the first time, others I’m sure come often to find rest — and I could see why.
If you’re in Seoul, take the subway about 40 minutes to Suwon. The ride itself is lovely — a mix of nature and cityscapes. 🌿🏙️ You might find some friends on the subway, as my mom did 😅
Inside Starfield Mall, you’ll find this breathtaking library that stretches through 8 floors. On the top level, people quietly read overlooking the entire space - it felt so calming.

The food court is up on the 8th floor too, and if you keep going, there’s even a rooftop garden and dog park (with a hidden library up there!). I’ve never been more amazed by a mall before — every corner felt like a new discovery. 🩵

Cafe Pokpo ⛰️🌊☕️ 카페 폭포

Such a peaceful little hideaway to sip my iced latte and sketch. My mom, friend and I loved it so much we ended up coming back again. 🌿 Returning, I hiked behind the waterfall and up to the summit of Ansan Mountain — it felt like wandering into a secret oasis.

Hongjecheon Waterfall rests right where Yeonhui Forest meets Ansan Mountain — a soft stream tumbling over mossy rocks, wrapped in a misty rain that day, and the warmth of the kindest Koreans I met along the way. ✨
Truly one of the most beautiful cafés I’ve ever been to. 💧☕️

Even in the busy city of Seoul, I found peaceful spaces to just be — to read my Bible, journal, and pick up my sketchbook again. For years, I didn’t know how to truly rest. But God has been so kind to remind me what it means to slow down and rediscover the simple joys He placed in my heart long ago.

I want to encourage you: pick up something you’ve loved but haven’t touched in a long time. Put your phone down, slow your pace, and simply rest — be still in the moment. When you do, I pray God’s peace would fill you. 🤍

Travel has a way of surprising you — a cozy café on a rainy morning, the kindest barista, a perfect matcha, and new friends you never expected to meet. ✨ @jini_coffee_ and her husband @b.ditor are the sweetest souls, and I’m so thankful our paths crossed in the sweetest way 🩷 If you have a chance, check out @jini_coffee_ and her café adventures — you’ll love them! 🤍

While I was at @rytm.coffee, I watched so many kind faces walk in — strangers becoming friends, stories intertwining. It was honestly so beautiful. ✨

Grateful to Jesus for these beautiful, joy-filled moments and the people He brings along the way. 🤍

Sketching people in Seoul 🤍

사람마다 아름다운 이야기를 가지고 있어요.

I love that each person tells a story. Each person carries different expressions, emotions and experiences, which morphs into a beautiful story. Even all the ugly seasons create beauty because they stretch, molds and shapes us. As I draw each person, I pray for them and wonder what brought them to where they are now. As I sketch in Seoul, I’m seeing each beautiful soul. 😉

After a tough season, I’m stepping into a new beautiful season and loving it. I am thankful to God everyday that I’m here in South Korea reigniting my passion for people, art and life itself. Tianna in January 2023 would have never thought I‘d be here. I’m only here because of Jesus.

I sure hope and pray everyone had a peaceful Christmas! Praying you can take some time to slow down, rest and enjoy the beautiful simple things around you. These are the things we can often miss when we are very busy, focused too far ahead, or too focused on our past. There is sooo much to be grateful for. Even in the midst of hard seasons, there can be the sweetest of joys when we slow down our rushing minds.

Over 2000 years ago, the wisemen and shepherds could have missed the most beautiful gift. But, they slowed down from what they were doing, looked up and saw the beauty right in front of them! They got to witness the most special gift swaddled in a manger.

“When they saw the star, they were filled with joy! They entered the house and saw the child with his mother, Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasure chests and gave him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.”

Christmas Advent: Fruits of the Spirit: ✨

✨Do you remember being a kid, and being sooo excited for the next day to come for your tiny, waxy, advent chocolate?! Now, let’s be real even as an adult I love opening all those Christmas chocolates. But, as a kid there’s just something so special about it! I remember hoarding days worth of chocolate on the calendar just so it seemed like I’d have more to indulge in. Anyone else do that? 🙋🏽‍♀️

Now there is an advent gift better than any Lindor or ferrero rocher chocolate. Jesus definitely has gifted us the best of the best. This gift is readily available any moment we ask Jesus into our hearts and this is for anyone and everyone! We don’t need to wait and save up days to work towards the sweet gift. BUT, in an instant anyone can experience Him. And when we open up the door of faith into our lives, He produces so many beautiful gifts, such as love, joy, peace, kindness etc. & let me tell you He literally is knocking on the doors of each of our hearts (revelation 3:20). When we open up the door in our heart, we not only have freedom with Jesus but He will bless us with the fruits of the Spirit. This advent fruit is definitely sweeter and better than any advent chocolate I’ve ever tasted!

I understand that this season might look different for you, might feel a bit hard, or maybe it’s a season of excitement. From now until Christmas the next 8 days, I’m going to pray for each of you to experience Jesus’ love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control this advent season!

I pray you will feel the peace and joy from Jesus immensely this Christmas season, despite your circumstances. I know Jesus has truly filled me with each of these gifts this season. And I am so grateful!

“But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!”
