… a thing happened today! My “why” took a big step and began #Kindergarten !!! The last few days have been very emotional, primarily because I’m in awe of how resilient he’s been despite significant transition. It seems like yesterday (see slide 3), that I held you for the 1st time when your mom gave us you. Taj B. Jones, you’re one amazing kid! Your mom @brettica and I are SUPER PROUD of you! Dear Son,
To know you in totality is pure joy! To love you unconditionally is effortless. Being your father has enabled me to consistently practice listening, understanding, patience, which builds empathy, advocacy, and action. Without your presence there is no doubt that I’d still be leading a life of survival vs. this new journey of life with love and intentional purpose. Your fearlessness encourages me to face the most difficult parts of my life. Whether journaling, reading, consulting confidants, and/or therapy; it is you that provides the light in dark places for my journey of continuous improvement. No matter where I am, you are in my heart, mind, and spirit. My life has many purposes and areas of fulfillment, however, you should know without question that being your father is the priority of my existence. Thank you for so many things. The gratefulness that resonates for me mostly is how much you’re facilitating in me becoming the best version of myself. The power of influence is one that I hope you harness for eternity.
